Real Madrid

Post by Mowhawk »

What happened to them?

Lyonnais 3--------Real 0

Can they recover in the second leg, or Real with their superstar studded team are a spent force?

They were spent force from the day they sold Claude 'the man' Makelele. One teams lose, is another one's gain (chelsea Very Happy ).

I agree Makellele is the best defensive midfielder in the world right now, but look a the rest of the team, they still have the best players in the world.

Don't much time, so excuse for the short reply.

I think R. Madrid got the wrong approach to the game. They approach the game from money making angle to the neglect of footballing side. This is the only explanations they would continue to buy big name stars that can't deliver. They sold makalele becuz he was't selling enough shirts, their entire signing policy is based on how many shirts a player can sell. The more shirts a player sells, the more likely he'll stay with team. They also lack any depth at their benches. And to compound their problems further, the old guard -- ronaldo, zidane, raul, carlos-- are nearing or have past their best. They need complete overwhal Exclamation

Mowhawk, lyon has been playing very good football for sometime and it's good to see french club football on the rise. It's still early days to write off Real Madrid but it's good for their performance to be shocked up now and then.Saw chelsea play anderlecht, though chelsea won by 1-0 it was a boring match, with all the stars they have chelsea should have played a much better and entertaining football.

Ive always said teams like Olympique Lyon, Real Betis, Monaco, Deportive La Curuna etc, aint no joke. They are serious teams. If you having a bad day they will kill you. Full credit to Lyon thou, they been playin some sexy football for the past year or two. And I knew they could only become better..................

As for Real Madrid, they aint got a deep bench. Yes, they brought in Robinho and Babtista, but Zidane is gettin older and cant play every game and Figo is gone. They need a deeper squad considering the team they are. Plus, Real Madrid's back four cant defend to save their lives. Ivan Helguera is their best defender, and he aint more than average. They need a better defence that what they got

Damn, I just come in and seen the result's.

Real Madrid have been nothing for the last three season's. They rely on a old zidane and the belief 'we will score more than you'.

I feel sorry for player's like ronaldo (best striker, fukk henry) who need to be playing in a REAL team.

I just hope they don't meet one of the big boy's and get embarrased again later on in the knock-out stage's.

I'ma go watch the highlight's, Peace.

Dun, I agree, even thou I respect Henry,.. I still think Ronaldo is the man. Plus, Zinedine Zidane cannot play game after game. The old man is gettin older, and as I said, their back 4 is a joke. They cant defend to save their lives

Ronaldo is the best striker, just because he's not doing what he was doing in the 98 world cup people doubt him.

Zidane is finished walahi, the ireland game he looked slow and not capable of playing for 90 minutes.......and thats was just in the first half!

They have no defence, no ATHLETE'S in midfield. They have footballer's but every team need's a couple athlete's with stamina like makalele, gattuso etc.

Ronaldo is the best striker. And he'll show that in the World Cup in Germany next summer. As for Real Madrid, selling Claude Makalele was a big loss. I blame it on the President, Perez, he got a personal policy to bring every world class to Madrid. That wont work. Look at Chelsea, they got a mix of everything, hard-workers, world-class players, skill-full wingers, and a top solid defence. And they are flying mayn. Every team do need Athlete's, not only footballers

I think it is good for football. Just like society, the gap between rich and poor teams are widening, and I hope that the "little" teams win the tournament.
