Truthfully, Somali issues are more complicated and distinct from the AA ones. Sure there are many Somalis locked up, from single-parent households (divorced or widowed), but the first accounts of racism Somalis have ever faced where outside of their homeland. This racial profiling and systemic racism stuff is new to them. I don't believe in linking up hands with people because they are a dislocated Africans. I'm a fundamental believer in the do-for-self philosophy. You can't expect anyone to solve your problems and identify with your plight more than your ethnic group i.e. Somali. Not to mention stop latching yourself on to the causes of other people. Fix your own first.
Good post. AAs need to become a very closed community to survive and none of their "black leaders" are really addressing it. If they did that they would do very well, like they were in the 30s when they had "black wall street". They need to be like that, but without the forced segregation of that time of course. Linking up hands will just cross up lines and confuse everything because we have different issues. Systematic racism can be fought threw economic barriers, if you can create jobs for your people you can shield them to a certain degree. We all have communities we can serve. When you go to school to be a doctor, you should be looking to open an office in the neighborhood with your people.
Theres also this weird culture growing that I notice some somali woman falling into. This whole feminist thing and its usually accompanied by the gay/lesbian movement. These fags try to set there claws in communities by going threw these feminists to introduce there rhetoric into various communities.
