Re: would you drink?
Canada Dry is pretty much sugar-laden and contains sodium benzoate which is a preservative that allegedly promotes cancer, this preservative is also linked to neurodegenerative diseases and premature aging from what I've read. I'm not a fan of any carbonated drinks and i don't believe in the wives tale about Canada Dry. You're totally right, ginger root is great for you its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties are why it's a household staple in my digs too. I actually always wanted to read about Somal folk medicine. If anyone knows of any good books they could suggest on the subject then that would be greatly appreciated.Cherine wrote:Don't know about Canada Dry but Ginger is known for aiding digestion and calming an upset stomach. It is also good for migranes, arthritic pain etc. We always have fresh ginger in our house.sophisticate wrote:I figured, but why snet of all places. Do you think they would prefer ginger? You do realize in Canada the carbonated beverage of choice is Canada Dry which has a ginger like taste. It's a common staple among Somali homes here, they seem to think it alleviates stomach aches. Kind of like you guys think 7up does that for you in the UK. Is it new-aged Somali folk medicine?
