Significance of the somali flags

Post by KnowThySelf23 »

so...forgive my ignorance, but I've seen the different types of flags that somalia has, i.e. the puntaland, somaliland, jubaland etc. flags. can you guys explain the meaning the flags represent? like how they came up with it? also i noticed that the top of the somaliland flag looks like the saudi arabian flag...what does that mean?
also this is an honest question so please don't harass me or each other, or bring qabil into it. thank you

before your question is answered,

why put somaliland in the same sentence as clan enclaves of somalia when somaliland is separate from them. do you want to talk about flags of enclaves of just somalia or the flags of the five historical territories of the somali penisula, of which somaliland and somalia are two of those territories (others are djibouti, nfd and kilil 5)

also i had anouther question but didn't want to start another thread....is "somali" a tribe? like the way afar, hutu, and the yoruba are tribes. like are they a version of another ethnic group? or were they a kind of their own? forgive the ignorance but i don't know much about this subject. also I'm not talking about clans, I'm specifically talking about tribes and only tribes.

Somalilabd flag stands for

Green with shahada: Islam and prosperity
White: peace and milk (nabad iyo cano)
Black star: DEATH TO PANSOMALISM
Red: In remembrance of SNM martyrs and others who shed their blood for Somaliland nationhood.

Somali: is a ethnic group who share the Somali language. They may not be related but they all speak the same language. For example elay or jarerweyne are Somalis by language although they are not related to most other Somalis.

All of the Somali flags have no real significance......It's the Ethiopian flag that counts.

Whats is the xabashi flag signature ??? . As far as I know every regime changes Something from the ethiopian flag as soon as they rule.

Menelk
Haile
Mingiste and
Meles

All Regimes had different verssions of ethiopian flag.

The blue Somalia flag is the same as it was in 1950 s and every somali knows what the white Star represents. Djibouti flag has blue in it and that blue is directly linked to the oldest somali flag. In kilil 5 they have a camel in their flag every somali knows that hawd and ogadeina is the home of somali camels. Somaliland's shahada on top and the black star is very understandable signatures too.

The people of somaliland are 100% muslim sunni so the shahada or declaration of faith is on our flag. Does it scare you ?
