Is it though? Things that happen to us may seem random but do we each have underlying traits that mean we end up exactly where we were going to, despite any randomness that came our way?
We all have people who have certain expectations of us. For example I am a romantic at heart and anyone who really knows me would be shocked if I ever ended up in a marriage of convenience.
I am not arguing against the fact that situations change and people may adapt to that change. However this adaptability is also part of our personality in the first place I.e Those who you expect to go with the flow and end up wherever life takes them and those who are very strong-minded about what they want out of life and therefore find a way to carry on with their goals regardless.
So assuming that at our core we are pretty much the same unchanging person, can we, with a healthy dose of moderation, predict where our traits will take us in life?
