The death penalty is impractical & inefficient.

Deterrence has been shown not to work, but if someone is dead they cannot kill again so prevention has some form of logic, but if the wrong person is executed then the value of the effort at prevention is zero.

In the US it seems to be more expensive to pursue a death penalty than to keep the person in prison for the rest of their life. If prevention is the goal and incarceration is less expensive than execution then it can be surmised that execution is simply revenge, which makes no sense to me.

It has been proven time & time again that the death penalty is extremely flawed.

How many millions innocent people have been wrongly executed throughout history. No sane, rational, intelligent person today can still be supportive of such a flawed system like the death penalty.

Death penalty should be eradicated, completely. But it will never be, so I guess In America, as long as we have Jesus followers, and the quote, 'an eye for an eye', people will be killed by the state.

In my opinion the death penalty should be for series killers, people who murder more than one person, commit murder more than once.

Peadophiles are flawed and cannot be fixed so should be put down as soon as possible.
