Gadsaan live Haud region in Nusdariiq town and they are not Biymaal. I knew about SNM giving financial and military support to Dir but this is the first time I hear about Dir guy fighting along with SNM. Cafiimaad dagdag ah ayaan ilaahay oo baryayah and to all Muslims.

gaadsan are sub clan of biimaal ask zumaale. SNM had southern wing who were mainly biimaal and hawiye based in mustaxiil. after 1991 the southern wing was renamed SSNM by its biimaal commanders (southern somali national movement) while most of hawiye joined USC.

Yusuf is right about Gadsan being a subclan of Biimaal. The ones who live next to the HY are the Fiqicilmi subclan of Gadsan. Most live in Southern K5 and Gedo/Bay area. SSNM was a mainly Biimal group that was aided in its foundation by the SNM.

the best award we give to any one is to recognise his/her SNM contribution or what he did for our people during the liberation. mujahid is the highest tittle you can have in somaliland, its even more important than minister General or president. SNM veterans are valued as national heroes regardless of their clan color or region.

3. lifetime pension for you or your family. my ayeyo still receive money from the state every month since 1997 because my uncle was recognised mujahid. unfortunately only few thousand snm veterans get receive this kind of allowance our government is too poor to compensate all SNM veterans.

Thanks for the info. Never knew Gadsaan are Biimaal. I am not sure about now but they had hard time with their southern neighbours who wanted to dominate other clans who share towns with them like Sheekhal and Gaadsan.

Ditoore Yalaxow what's your take on USC? you seem to be anti-SNM, are you anti USC too.

IAM NOT ANTI SNM.. and USC was a failed organsation politically. and siyad bare was dictiator idiot and it was right in meesha laga tuuro.. laakiin what next after siyad bare was a disaster.

There was no planned political structure in place after the fall of MSB government, perhaps if USC focused more on state building than genocide they would have succeeded, and there would be no Somaliland today.

Abwaan Mohamed Ibrahim "Hadraawi" said it all in his poem "Gudgude". Most of SNM top ranking officers who I met agreed with his approach but other rebellions such as USC, SSDF and SPM didn't.
