Maher is more, attention seeker. So I normally don't take him seriously. It was however very interesting to see Zakariya as his guest. I watch him on CNN every Sunday. Zak-- is a gentle manly indian who is articulate, idealistic, and an intellectual, well somewhat intellectual. His heart gets into the way. His answer was honest, and heartfelt, unfortunately, Maher-- the optimum narcissist, and a very product of the Jew Hollywood boulevard took it like as a personal affront!

What you got against Aslan? I like that Reza Aslan has been on his show to put him in his place. He has been the only vocal muslim intellectual against Bill "Diarrhea mouth" Meher.

What you got against Aslan? I like that Reza Aslan has been on his show to put him in his place. He has been the only vocal muslim intellectual against Bill "Diarrhea mouth" Meher.

I have nothing against him, it's just that he does a poor job of dealing with these guys theologically (funny cuz he's a religious studies guy). Bill will say "it says kill the infidel in the Quran" and Reza will simply respond by saying it's in the bible too. He argues well from a socioeconomic and political position, but that's it. These guys will continue spewing qashin until someone puts them in their place theologically.

You have a point there. It would be superb if he also extended his arguments/defense to include the theological perspective.

Reza is an academic Softie. Too girly, but I guess very professorial. Nothing wrong with that. I doubt he is a practicing Muslim though, however I do appreciate that, a man of his caliber, I mean, education, could convert from Christianity to Islam, and openly declare it. I wish All Muslims had his softness, and argue by exchange of information, instead of reacting in a knee jerk level and start bombing.

Aslan was born a Muslim and at some point in his life converted to Christianity only to revert back to Islam. That is what inspired him to write his book on Jesus AS.
