Armenia was not the first genocide of the twentieth century.the people of namimbia were victims of the Holocaust in the african desert.leopold killed 10-20 million of kneegrows in the congo.pope should recognise kneegrow lives.

Re: pope comments
The Turkish-American Council came to a mosque I was praying Friday prayers
at yesterday asking Somalis who were 99% of the congregation to come to downtown
and protest against labeling the Armenian Genocide as a Genocide since they don't have a big community here.
They even offered to pay for the transportation by renting buses.
But yeah, madow lives don't really matter for them....

Germany admitted commiting genocide but refused compensation. The somalis are owed , according to my data, 5 billion dollars for crimes commited during colonialism.

Re: pope comments
In Namibia the Herero peopl had the opportunity to wipe out the Germans who were there at that time when they had the upper hand.Instead they left the women and children alone and treated them as innocents.Do you think the Germans paid back in kind when they got reinforcments and arms.Hell No!.They went on a killing rampage sparing nothing, not even their animals. They then threw the survivors into concentration camps, where thousands more died of malnutrition and hypothermia. These concentration camps preceded the Nazi camps by decades.Germany never talks about these camps do they. They pay reparation to the Namibians on the quiet and with as minimal publicity as possible

Re: pope comments
You're right. Also the fact that Germany blames the phenomenon of concentration camps on Hitler. As if it was something unheard of in previous German administrationsBaastoUnit wrote:Still, that aid is nothing compared to what the yabuud receive.

Re: pope comments
Turkey distances it's self from the Armenian genocide, on the count of that it happened under Ottoman rule. Much like how Holocaust is the legacy of the nazis and not the fault of present-day Germany.

It was the Young Turks. The fore runners of modern day secular Turkey, that commited the crime .Not Sultan Abdul Hamid. In fact Hamid has never been implicated in the deed.
