Add Gedo to Koonfur Galbeed?
I rarely got involved in this never-ending political quagmire in Somalia as nothing about it makes sense anymore. Friends invited me to a teleconference meeting the other day where Koonfur Galbeen minister from Bakool was trying to explain the reasons Digil and Mirifle are complaining about the division of seats of the Jubbaland parliamentary seats. According to this minister, their argument simply centers on the Gedo seats. They claim that they should have received more than Sade or at least equal number. I have always thought OGs were the second in numbers to Sade in Gedo, and having Digil and Mirifle claim half of Gedo is changing the political landscape. The minister said that Shariif Sakiin has threatened to sideline Cawlyahan if the numbers in Gedo seats are not changed. I have an idea, let us add Gedo to his Maamul and claim either the vice president or the speaker of the parliament. What do you guys think about that?
And remember the current speaker of the Jubaland parliement is a Digil/Mirifle.

Gedo is home to many clans like every region in Somalia, however majority of the inhabitants are from the SADE clan. I think a reasonable offer would be exchanging populations like india/pakistan did. The Cawlyahan in bay/bakool can be reunited with their brothers in afmadow/dhoobleey and the eelaays in Gedo can join their kins in southwest state.

Cawlyahan in Bakool are power to reckon with because they have the powerful regional Afdheer region adjacent to Bakool. And for your ilka-yar mind, Cawlyahan doesn't live in Afmadow and Dhoobley; their lands in Somalia lie around J/Dhexe and Gedo mostly Jubada Dhexe, Baardheere, Faafaxdhuun, Luuq, and so on.
I think the small-teeth coupled with a balding hair has their effects on memory and history

Re: Add Gedo to Koonfur Galbeed?
Let them go to Gedo and make their claim.
I don't get it. Galgaduud is a shared region, Lower Jubba is a shared region, Hiiraan is a shared region.
Anyone can go to any district there where their clans also settle and contest regional distribution.
I just don't know a single district or town in Gedo Sharif Hassan or Koonfur Galbeed or anyone can go to contest regional distribution.
Not a single town or district has mayor than Marehan and there never seems to be any clan fighting with the exception of Ceel-Waaq on the border where many Garre were coming from and standing on the Kenyan border.
Why can't Shariif Hassan go to Luuq or Dollow or Buurduubo or any town from the Bay side?
Just one time let them draw numbers and give a fair dissent about distribution. They can't because Gedo is a very stable region diversity wise where the issues always seem to be between Marehan clans and never between Marehan and someone else.
Don't get me wrong I am proud that we have neighbors and also proud we treat them justly. Even that infamous Danish paper where they relied in the guy In Mandera to tell them about Gedo who said his Rahanweyn clan is majority of Gedo, he also said Marehan may be warlike but they are very respectful and considerate of their neighbors.
The issue here isn't that others also live in Gedo. They do. The issue here is tbat there isn't a single district where Marehan are not majority and in control. So how can someone else contest control?
Yet we now are asked to listen to radio talk and teleconference.
Well you know what, Gedo is not the issue. Lower Jubba and Kismaayo are and we will make our mark. Kenya can be there for the next 10 years if it wants.
The Charade will end and then it will seem as if no charade had ever taken place.

The~Repubic, Guhaad reminds me of a kid I grew up where we played basketball all the time. The funny thing is that I would always beat him, that it didn't even become a big thing to me, but one day he beat me, and man did he walk with an inflated chest and his chin held high never missing a beat to remind me. I use to just laugh and let him have his moment.

"Indeed, a British officer with service in the region would later describe the Ogaden, of whom the Aulihan were a part, as "one of the most formidable fighting tribes in Africa" because of their mobility with their ponies, remarkable endurance, and the skill with which they wielded their spears."
That is the true African warrior clan!
Voltage,
I didn't know you were still here and lucid given the fact that everything you have fed us in the last decade emanated to be nothing but deliriums of Prozac-taking patient. You told us that your clan was the majority in Galguduud, and today, the reality is that you would be lucky if you garner the same of amount of seats of Weceysle-Galguduud. Not Weceysle in general, but Weceysle in Galguduud. I kind feel bad that, for so many years, I fed on your propaganda and somehow beleived the D-block was a powerful entity in Galguduud. What I am gonna tell that Blue nigga now????
As for the politics in Jubaland, the charade will be over soon and the Kenyans will leave, so please make sure you prepare your next pretext. For typical reer Waamo OG, the skirmish between Northern Auliyan and Mareexaan is not a big deal so I am not really worried much about that. I know for sure Reer Waafato can be counted on. Jubbaland’s biggest nemesis is the government in Muqdisho. Aint worried about Garbahaarey.
You are relevant and garnered 19 seats at the expense of Digil/Mirifle and Cawlyahan because that soft azz Madoobe fell for your propaganda. I can't wait his charade to be over soon too.

Re: Add Gedo to Koonfur Galbeed?
Guhad, this is the central formula which ia very fair in my opinion. Central is a very diverse region where there is a different clan in every district.
It is interesting that Marehan got 20% and Habar Gidir is 30% when this is the main state for Habar Gidir and Marehan in central is essentially a small settler colony since bull Marehan are now in Jubbaland and contesting Janay Cabdalle.
1 Beesha Mareexaan 67 xubnood.
2 Beesha Maxamuud hiraab (Duduble) 35 xubnood
3 Beesha Sacad 26 Xubnood.
4 Beesha Ceyr 26 Xubnood.
5 Beesha Saleebaan 26 Xubnood.
6 Beesha Saruur 26 Xubnood.
7 Beesha Murusade 53 Xubnood.
8 Beesha Waceysle 35 Xubnood.
9 Beesha Dir 35 Xubnood.
10 Beesha Sheekhaal 17 Xubnood.
11 Beesha 5-aad 17 Xubnood.
So there you have it where we will be kingmakers among Hawiye clans who have greater rivalry as Sacad and Saleebaan or Murusade and Duduble than say Marehan and Habar Gidir.
Central is done and we have gotten the equitability even if we agree ia fair. No one forced anyone, there was no foreign army, this was pure consensus and will bring longer peace than the fake process overseen and pretty much just kept in place by a Kenyan invasion army.
Jubbaland will be relitigated and even you know that.

Waxaan maqli jiray "Aabow ka yar iga celi oo ka weyn igu soo daa". So Mareexaan doesn't want to fight for their rights in the lost cities such as Dhuusa Mareeb, and all the cities Wagar Dhac lost but are willing to fight Ogaden in Janaay Cabdalle? The`Republic wrote:Guhad, this is the central formula which ia very fair in my opinion. Re: Add Gedo to Koonfur Galbeed?
People need to understand the psychology behind guhaads acrimony
Guhaads anxiety stems from his realisation of marexaans pervasive ascendancy and their natural power that is anchoraged in power politics
Guhaad understands that beesha sade has imperial propensity and he understands the fickleness of beesha ogaden political position.
Guhaad knows he can`t defeat marexaan, but what he can do is contain marexaan by seeking alliances against marexaan or formanting disputes and conflicts between marexaan and others as to keep them occupied, so beesha sades hegemony in kismayo and jubaland can be balanced and curtailed
Guhaad can run to kenya or dawlada Somalia ama raxanwayn, one way or another he has to deal with beesha sade who are encroaching everyday on areas that were inaccessible before
ogaden always need a patron in southern Somalia, because their power is fragmented and internally they are divided, even jubaland and ahmed madoowe could not unite them, the cawliyahan interest are closer to marexaan interest hence their common understanding and closeness over the years then they are to ahmed madoowe or Mohamed zubeirs appeasement and desolate politics.
guhaad and ahmed madoowe have betrayed cawliyan and marexaan by appeasing other clans..look what they did to cawliyanland by giving historic cawliyahan land to other clans just like he wants to give marexaanland to raxanwayn.
Guhaad is desperate, kismayo is a matter of life and death to him and his kin, and they are willing to throw cawliyahan and marexaan under the bus, just to have their claim legitimised and fortify their Kenyan enclave in kismayo.
I supported ahmed madoowe but the reality is, he had a great chance but we are facing an age of competition and subtle wars, bal degodi ama raxanwayn sheekada jubaland maha so geliyay? It shows you the irresponsibility of ahmed madoowe and his kin.
ahmed madoowe lost legitimacy among the ogaden and marexaan when he went on the path of neville chamberlain (coupled with kenyan withdrawal, this is the best time for beesha sade to enact their historic design and claim their manifest manifest destiny)

The Juba floodplain just from Dolow to Luuq can probably feed everyone in Southern Somalia. Gedo can become a grain breadbasket for somalia.
Shortsightedness is what will doom Jubaland.
