After his calculated move, Ahmed Silanyo, was welcomed to Berbera to the warmest reception yet. All that term extension and election delayed have been all forgiven and forgotten. This is the homeland of Irro and his fellow fisherman, the Harvard graduate, Jamal Ali Hussein----two so called opposition leaders

From the moment he left the Villa to the moment his 4x4 hit the braked in Berbera, the crowds chased him and waved olive branches. Silanyo was never this popular.

Don't get excited reer Konfuur and the few qalbi xabxab Landers. He was not there for the refugees but to unveil new petroleum laboratory as well as other key infrastructures, and of course the scissors (maqaas) was with him----he will cut the ribbons today, tomorrow and announce more projects. None of the projects include Dadaab 2.0

BERBERA (Somalilandsun) -The President of the Republic H.E. Ahmed Mohammed Mohamud Silanyo has been received tumultuously by large crowds of the citizenry at the port town of Berbera.

The Head of State who is in an official tour of the country's main harbour city was hilariously ushered with deafening ululations all along the towns and centers that he travelled through lying along the Hargeisa-Berbera highway, especially at Abdaal and Da'arbuduq.
The President is expected to inaugurate several established projects and at the same time launch newly proposed ones.

This visit is an important one not only for the Sahil region but to the country at large since, for instance, it is expected that the President may today formally inaugurate the national petroleum refinery laboratories.

From the time H.E. Ahmed Silanyo was sworn in as the President and took over the reins, the country has made wide ranges of palpable and positive developmental steps on all sectors concerned.



Particular, Berbera is one amongst the places that major developments have taken place in recent times and have been well witnessed and evidenced. The town's local municipality has equally made their impact in the same direction quite well.
It is worth noting that during his tenure, the port has had its harbour receive major facelifts, just as the Berbera airport and the city's infrastructure has.
The President who was accompanied by the First Lady Amina Sheikh Mohammed Jirde led a large delegation in his entourage amongst them the Presidency Minister Hon. Hirsi Ali Hassan and Interior Minister Hon. Ali Mohamed Waran-adde.

The old refinery have been restored and rehabilitated. They will resume production and storage. Life is slowly crawling back into SL thanks to the Kulmiye Gov unlike their predecessors who used to give the locals the ictiraaf excuses. Muj Silanyo deserves more credit and his Lieutenant Hirsi Gaab deserves three stars.

I wish Dr Sheikh Samale was still part of the team instead of that gogaarad Zamzam.



The next thing for them is to make long term plans, policies and vision(s). They should not only focus on the visions by the Ministry of planning but they should have one as individual politicians, as a political party dogma and aim for long lasting legacies. This is what I want from our politicians and our people. My number one emphasis is always; emotions and pride/ego aside, then can one learn to focus.

If today I was in their shoes instead of hiring foreign lobbyist firms for recognition. I would spend that money on an anthropologist, geneticist and a decent DNA laboratory for the University of Hargeisa. Then I would use these institutions and know-hows to engineer a new society not only through anthropology, geneticism but also through political culture (attitudes, belief, sentiment, goals, visions). I would not spend so much time and energy on "British this and 1960 that"------just mould a new society slowly. Small baby steps. Standardize local language, spelling, reinforce identity, display national heroes and establish 'early learning' programmes. Where kids are not only taught about behavor, set of rules, standards but who they are by showing them books, cartoons, movies about little heroes about their identities such as "Captain SL" wears SL flag example. When they grow up they will learn to behave certain way, to treat certain people certain way and be certain identity reinforced into their heads all their lives. They will eventually learn what makes a good society and what makes them really "them" and others are just 'others' regardless even if you once shared common language. You no longer share common behaviour, goals, visions, disciplines, academia---which all shape who you are. There is no need for repeating British Protectorate this and that.

That's what I want from our leaders, academia, and call for the establishment of think tank(s) and political anthropologists. We do not just need engineers and doctors.

They are not there but they are improving. Right now they're the best we have. Democracy and the election bla bla is for whites----what if you go to the polls, elect Irro or Jamal and they turn out to be useless? What good is democracy? Sometimes the best thing is to leave those making changes in position without wasting resources on polls and queues.

When our leaders change lives slowly-----for me it's as if I'm listening to Teddy Afro-----great music to my ears. Politics, like music, too needs rhymes. Today Berbera is dancing and the locals will see the results and why they should trust the leadership----in no time the elders will come to Hirsi and ask him to restart the cement.

To be honest it depends on area, design, features and the owner itself but I would say budget for anything from $250 per month (basic homes) to $700 per month (fully furnished).

I suggest you budget for $400 per month for decent place.

hargeisa is expensive to live show. I would go to wajaale hadaa where I can have every thing available and cheaper.

It is because of Diaspora and others from other regions.

Many of the locals have big money too and push prices up. The demand for new homes with modern features including flush toilets is very high.

That's why you see every other week people open hotels. So much demand and money.
