Things I observed in Somalia
I thought it would be fun if I wrote down things I've noticed here and maybe people who have been here recently can add.
1. Men holding hands
2. Like 8 women all next to each other selling petrol.
3. People in the neighbourhood all extremely close and know eachother well.
4. Someone just randomly joining your conversation or adding his two cents without any further consideration.
5. After Asr and before Maqrib is like a sacred shah drinking time. People just sit in bibitos and drink tea waiting for prayer calling.
6. All the xamaalis working in the port all look the same.
( shorts with macawiis, skinny and dark skinned)
7. Girls going to weddings put make up on looking like clowns. ( the huge black eyebrows seems to be a mogadishu trend)
8. Khat is almost only sold by females
9. The police/ military have some really young guys, some look like to be around 15
10. All women have the same type of walk
11. Almost 90% of cars are Toyota

Men holding hands? What kind of khaniisnimo is that?
They must have been Bantu since you are in Mogadishu.

Re: Things I observed in Somalia
Nope. Random ordinary Somalis do it Bantu non Bantu young and old. It seems to be a normal thing hereNobleGeeljire wrote:Men holding hands? What kind of khaniisnimo is that?

Men holding hands in Somalia is just them copying Arabs. Holding hands is just another Arab export along with fundamentalism, khamees and shumagh (cimaamad). I wouldn't be surprised if Somali men start kissing each other on the cheek three times in the next few years. Before the civil war, it was nonexistent.
Re: Things I observed in Somalia
I haven't moved here. Me and my husband both left Somalia at a very young age. His parents moved back a couple of years ago so we decided to spend the summer here so they could meet their grandkids.Hyperactive wrote:susu, what is the reason you moved to somalia? job, bussness, family? because quality of life is really not that good.

Fuck this gay arab timid weak shit.
We have truly become a bastard nation.
Men holding hands copying Arabs & women copying Hindis smuthering lightening cream on their face, while they shake their asses with some adoon jareer Bantu adopted dance called Nikko.
The noble, proud unique strong somali no longer exist only self loathing imitators.
Other people tend to be proud of their dhaqan not somalis, It took somalis one civil war to spit on their ancestors & their heritage. Something people couldn't accomplish for centuries. One war is all it took waa cajiib
You're right. They don't hear us though. The niiko music is too loud.
