As it appears, they have joined forces to counter the hard stance taken by the international community. Not long ago, UN representative to Somalia voiced the international community's concern when it came to possible term extension by current politicians. This stance was taken when it became apparent the envisioned one man one vote might not take place. Their hunch was confirmed when the president made the announcement that was a vote based on each citizen's voice wouldn't be taking place

Now it was the speaker of parliament's turn to play the assigned role to him. He came forward and made it public that the mini governments that exist within the larger government are not on a equal footing. In the speech, the speaker belittle the recently formed administrations while placing Puntland in particular on a higher podium (Somaliland was not mentioned). This meant, the third avenue which would have seen the administration's hand selected representatives coming from their districts was also closed

In conclusion: The motion put forward by some members of the parliament against the president is a scheme designed to defeat the opposing scheme spearheaded by the international community (Uk & US).
