Reer Muqdisho put forward their view of the political future

Post by thegoodshepherd »

The first comprehensive survey of what the political goals of beesha Muqdisho are. I have been waiting for this type of information for quite some time now, we finally have something to pick apart. Here are the most important positions of beesha Muqdisho:

1- 4.5 should be used in the 2016 parliamentary election
2- 18 states are illegal, MPs should be elected from the original 8 states
3-No upper federal house

How parliament should be shared according to beesha Xamar:

What is intriguing is that they give Bari (Nugaal+Mudug) such a small population, totally at odds with all survey data, but also give it over representation. Benadir with 10x the population would have only 3x the representation, contradicting their own claim about basing MP number simply on population. The same is the case for Woqoyie Bari (Sool+Sanaag) leading me to believe that the numbers are just made up. The demand to go back to the 8 states also effectively means a discrediting of the existing federal states. Of course none of this will actually be agreed to by anyone during the upcoming negotiations, but they show you just how radically different perceptions among the political elite are.

lol,

In the old original 8 regions, there was nothing
called "Woqoyi Bari, Woqoyi Galbeed"

There was only Woqooyi Galbeed & Toghder
covering the whole of Somaliland. The names & population are fake.

This basically puts everyone in conflict, the 18 states allowed each major clan to have a couple of states where they are the majority. Dir also benefited because they got Awdal the only majority Dir gobol. It does not even make sense to bring this up because it would never work.

It seems that some are trying to push this so that these become the new federal states instead of the ones that currently exist. I don't know why they think it is viable though.

Yh, before the kacan sliced it
as he wishes. TBH, these huge regions
wouldn't be practical but obviously, the intentions
behind the creation of these new 10 sub regions wasn't practical of sincere.

The states had to be divided because they were too big. The reason Hiiraan was not divided is because it was the right size area wise and population wise for a country the size of Somalia. Now most states in Somalia are about the same size as Hiiraan, and have an urban center which is economically viable. If Togdheer was never divided Las Anod would not have really grown as all governmental investment would have gone to Burco. The same goes for Borama vis-a-vis Hargeisa. Dividing the states allowed for equal service delivery.
