They have forced Boeing and Airbus to give them tech transfers as a precondition to entering their huge market. They are behind but not by much. This plane can be compared to Boeing planes from the 1980s. Give them 15 years and they will have overtaken both Boeing and Airbus. They have the industrial knowhow and the low wages to outcompete both companies.

China will not be selling these airplanes to US o Europe, but to the developing world.

it's not a big thing to make a plane for a country like china. even smaller countries such turkey make airplane.

You can hardly call it Chinese because most of the key components are foreign supplied/made.



It's nothing surprising though because it's unrealistic to expect a developing country to start making 100% functional quality planes that competes with western ones like Boeing or Airbus that have been in the businesses for close to a century. This is how countries like Japan and South Korea started out with cars, ships etc. by using foreign parts before they gradually developed and improved on it themselves. In 20-30 years you will see 100% made Chinese planes.
