Good music from my friends in the North

I currently like these two songs both from the northern region of Wollo from two different groups but quiet integrated and tolerant.

Elsabet fired first by producing Shegawa, which means beautiful (you are). Normally I'm not big on Wolloye but lately I am starting to see them modernize their tunes while keeping old traditions such as the inhaling, masinko and the local flute (washint).



I can see it's heavily influenced by Gojjamee style (for example after 2:46)...crazzzzzy music. Very heavy Gojjam influence. I believe the singers and dancers are all from Gojjam but they showing love to their northeastern neighbours.



Hablaaha Wollo



The second comes from the most northern Oromo, the Rayyaa, even though the singer herself is from the east (Hararghe).



Both songs pay homage to Wollo, where Amhara, Oromo, aspects of Tigray, Afar, even aspects of Somali culture, Iroba and others meet to form what it is-----a melting pot of culture and history.

That's your point of view as a daarood . I have lived in Addis for a year like I said , I had the time of my life. If I ever get some money , I am gonna build me a house there . Ethiopians are masaakiin by nature , hospitable and disciplined . It the hate that comes from the chaotic wanderers the somalis are that turns everybody in the world off , let's face it .

Just chilling. Southern somalis chill in Nairobi Kenya, I prefer Addis Abeba Ethiopia .

Yes there are some haters on both sides but its mainly due to ignorance and not knowing anything but "the other side hates you" mentality.

That group is a dying minority.

I have been to Nazret, Dire and Moyale but never to the north. Good times.

This time I wanna go north especially would like to see Dessie, Bahir Dar, Lake Tana and Meqelle.

Unfortunately no bro. I met a guy in a cafe one day , a regular {amara}. He thought I was tigre because I have a scar on my face he thought was a tribal marking Anyway so the guy was a guide for white people , he offered to go with him in his next expedition to Gambella , I don't remember exactly why but I couldn't go .In Addis , you sense you're in Africa , oo hablooyin qurux badan waddooyinka marayaan , top !

Teddy no longer makes hit songs.

When it comes to male singers in his genre both Temesgen and Jacky Gosee are now popular with the new generation.

Personally I like traditional eskista particular Gojjam one and some times Wollo. The Gojjamees are very gifted in this art I have noticed. For example the first song when you start from 2:45 you can see why they just kill it. They also use that voice over.

Addis Abbaba,....piaasa was where i lived for a while back in the 90s.
lycee gebremariam where djiboutian studens use to study. i visited my brother who went there as a kid and the drama reer jabuuti use to get up to back in those days But the parties held in african embasadors houses ( thats where my love for zaiko linga linga...hstarted ) and getting chased in the street of addis after cerfew in diplomatic plate cars.
