Sufism in Somalia/Somaliland
Is Sufism still strong in Bari and in somaliland in general? Because if you look up Somali dikri videos or ziyarah in Somalia or somaliland it's either shows people in Mudug, galgadud or koonfurta. Remeber this is just a question.

Re: Sufism in Somalia/Somaliland
I can't speak for eastern SL as I have never past Aw Barkhadle to the east but in Hargeisa the salafist terrorists almost wiped the sufis out.
I only saw one Suufi mosque from the old Hargeisa in Qudhac Dheer district.
In Haud, Suufis reign supreme and keep the salafist at bay thanks to the ET government.
In Daroor I saw about 3 Suufi mosque and none for Salafis. The speakers go off every few hours...dikri all day. The fokers woke me up tho like 4am. Wan fahmi wayeey.
Suufis also have huge camp in the outskirts ran by Isaxaqq crew and its not far from the ET checkpoint. I say check because ET has no army but telephony tower, one building and one soldier checkpoint.
I went in there and there several families within the camp. These families live inside fenced area and they have cleric leaders. I have never seen that kind of community before literally they share food, income, responsibilities, security etc.
They allowed us inside coz we r same jilib and they needed us to transport a member to another village called Wabi Caade. Lakin lama gali karo.
Allaa maxa xuraal cayn joogay

Re: Sufism in Somalia/Somaliland
I can't speak for anything East of Hargeisa either but there is a big sufi mosque named after Ibrahim Dhere AUN who funded it in Hargeisa. In Rural areas between Hargeisa ilaa Borama (Gabiley) Sufism is still widely practiced and I even heard Sheikh Mustafa was actually chased out of Arabsiyo by the Sufis.
Sufism has been declining in general though thanks to sheikhs who studied Wahabbism in Saudi Arabia coming back preaching against it.

Where abouts is that Ibrahim dheere mosque?
We are tolerant people really but we have to keep foreign evils away especially Saudi money, Qatari and Wanlawein warlord "Sheikh".
Look in Hargeisa we next to big tabliqi center in New Hargeisa and in Haud big Suufi center.
That tabliqi wan tagi jiray. They gate man is Konfuuri from Baidao. He was my mate lakiin sawiiro iga diiday.
If we don't manage all these groups we could be Iraq or Syria in 50 years.
We have to monitor them. I am worried about the Kuwaiti center also in New H. I think its a cover up and they exploiting us by going for the vulnerable in this case orphans. I have my suspicions.

in the east there's still sufism. You'll find the qaadiriya and saalixiya influence all over the place. Laakiin the wahabi oil machine invests alot in giving scholarships to brainwash people who wouldn't know any better. Waxaan layaabey salafiyiinta oo tabliiqi ah. They clearly don't know the founder of the movement was a sufi/ hanafi

It is located Opposite from the central prison like Aisha said. I agree we need to keep them in check. I would hate to see takfiri groups running around beheading people like the Arabs or afghans.
Re: Sufism in Somalia/Somaliland
Dont know about mosques but Sufism and Siyaros go hand in hand. My ayeeyo was a staunch suufi allaya raxma which is where I got my Suufinimo tendencies from, and I grew up celebrating and looking forward to the yearly Siyaaro for Sheikh Isaxaq.
What a feast that was. Durmanka, Jadka, Fooxa, qasiidooyinka allla alla allah ka bax..Mar mar xabad awr ah laba sac dhawr neef ayay ayeeyo qali jirtay...And there are the famous siyaaros in Awbarkhadle and the one for Sheikh Yusuf Kawniin. Hawdian enlighten us about these figures sxb!

Re: Sufism in Somalia/Somaliland
Are you question about those sufis from tv who look and do eastern "excotic" jumping for western viewers, if you question is about real sufism based on those who study deen and spread the deen like qadriya and sahliyah ordrs they are our scholars in the past and respect for them is high. Lkn those who call them selfivs sufis today are not sufi and far away from alhu suna wa jamacah.jaad wa xaram destroying our youth will be banned , sigaar the same, runnig around and doing siyaaro for dead people sheikh issaq, sheeikh al kawian, all that nonsense is gonna stop. Sharing food wa good lkn do NOT think inad dalkan jahilyad sufism iyo been ta reer galbeed aad ku fafheysaan. Dalkan wa sunni shafici ma aha sufism been ta iyo saif la bood ka salafism ee wa in the middle la wato deenta kuwa ugu fcn kuwa ah dareeq dexdexa middle road.

Those siiyaaras.
Markan yara I witnessed one in Aw Barkhadle. The whole Hargeisa came over. Every side was hilib, xawash iyo orange juice kuwi Arabta laga keeni jiray. Hundreds of cars and trucks on top of each others. It was magical.
Not sure if it was for Sh Isaxaaq or Aw Barkhadle. Too young to know differences.
I never saw so many people feasting in one place. It lasted about three days and two nights.
The last Sh Isaxaaq siiyara I missed it but everyone had to send money.
I heard it happens something like every 20 years.
Aw Barkhadle isaga I used to burn the foox. Dabqad weyn ba kor saranaa jiraay.
