these are the small unit that protects puntland state president. they only difference between them and Somaliland's Ciidanka madaxtooyada are the helmet. Ciidanka madaxtooyada are small unit selected from Somaliland's Duubcas unit they usually wear red beret.

The entire army of Puntland is 5,000 soldiers. Almost all are equipped like that.
Somaliland has over 50,000 soldiers on their payroll which makes equipping them very difficult. Somaliland uses its military as a social welfare program to keep unemployed boys busy. Bad idea.

if you guys got only 5000 soldiers/police then maybe that is why punt land's safety and security are a little better then south somalia. The Yemeni refugees in Puntland all want to leave and come to somaliland due to lack of security.

I just just told you, anyone whose family resided in somaliland June 26, 1960 and before that are considered somaliland citizens basically the original tribes of somaliland June 26, 1960 at the time of independence and before then.

any person who is a patrial[10] of Somaliland being a descendant of a person residing in Somaliland on 26th June 1960 or earlier  shall be recognised as a citizen of Somaliland.

2.   The law[11] shall determine the acquisition or loss of the citizenship of Somaliland.
