A lot of this is paper wealth. Just go and check out the Forbes billionaire list. On some days, some billionaires lose 100s of millions of their net worth because stock market gyrations. Warren Buffet is fond of telling people that he lost HALF of his net worth several times in his investing career.

But inequality is real, pernicious and getting worse by the year.

Yeah I was reading about this earlier today. But I don't really care, because their wealth is not going to go with them to the grave. And their wealth is not going to protect them from the fire. People should keep in mind this dunya is short. Ikhira is for eternity.

your post reminded me the guy they asked; the bread became "dinar' (they meant very expensive. he replied, I do not care if the single grain it cost "dinar". all ive to do is to work"as3a" and He said(God) "i am the provider".

inequality generated by capitalism. I can't wait til everything is automated so the whole world permanently switches to Communism.

Communism came too early, it needs dirty boring jobs to be done by machines while people do important jobs like Scientists, Engineers, Philosophers, Artists, Economists etc. Now communism can be extremely successful to stop this inequality. Machines are taking over shit jobs and people are becoming unemployed most are aiming for higher value jobs.

Communism will never work. The best economic system is a hybrid between free markets and strong social safety nets (healthcare, education, infrastructure, unemployment insurance, etc.).
