How do you people meet Somalis of the opposite sex organically?

Outside of shisha joints and night clubs of course. While it is easy for me to meet ajnabis practically everywhere (at work, conference, hobbies, etc), I find it is very rare to come across a xalimos in a place where she won't be on the defensive. My female relatives constantly berate me for dating ajabi women, but have no solution to this. Our culture just doesn't seem to have proper avenues where men and women can meet each other in an organic manner.

I agree. I never envisioned myself marrying a non-Somali but im starting to see it as a real possibility. With whites, blacks and some Asians everything is just easier and more straightforward. There is no beating around the bush, no qabil complications, regional discriminations, religious pretentiousness etc.

Whereas most Somali women are very guarded when it comes to being approached by men, unless she's your average shisha smoking-addict who is very familiar with non 'mahram' men in the joint. Unfortunately for me shisha/smoking is a deal-breaker.

To tell you the truth somali men and women don't have no venues to meet besides dumarka.

If you frequent Somali places such as the malls and centres for learning you will inevitably meet some. Outside of these people youll be able to meet them in colleges and universities. If you live in an area where there are Somalis there will certainly be plenty of single xalimos in education. The least conservative ones are always found hanging about from what i hear in town.

About 2 months ago a Xildhibaan for the Federal SG was in my state and alot of people showed up.

There were a lot of people who showed up, some that i didn't even know lived in my state.

My thoughts exactly. If you meet one somewhere in public that isn't an "acceptable" venue like the checkout line in a grocery store and try to randomly strike a conservation, she will be completely defensive and for the most part unresponsive unlike ajnabi women. I myself have the issues you listed magnified significantly given the clan background I come from, and will most likely not be marrying a Somali either. With that said, this is still an important issue that needs to be addressed by the community. It's funny how you have no shortage of people who look down or act harshly towards Somalis who marry out, but have no viable proposal for avenues that young Somalis can meet each other in a completely natural and unforced way.
