Today, I found out that my cousin had divorced his wife 18 months ago, when I accidently telephoned her. (I wanted to call someone else who have similar name as my cousin's wife, numberkeeda ayee gacanta igaga dhacey!). Once I realised my mistake, I carried on pretending like I had intended to call and started to ask about hebel and how the kids are, to which after a long pause she replied with the question "'....huuno ma aakhiro ayaad jirtey?...'' then she told me of the divorce and gave me my cousin's new number.


So my Snet family I ask you do you keep in touch with all the members of your family regularly or are you at least aware of their circumstances?

My cousins used to call me and I used to send them money all the time. When I went back home, I found out that, they have not spoken or gone to see my mom for 5 years and do not even care about her. In the west, cousins are relatives but if you go to Africa, you will see entire families that have not spoken to each other for years or have some sort of Feuds. I do not know why but Cousins are not relatives in Africa. When I came back, I only talk to those whom visit my Mom. Anyone who does not Visit my mom can go to hell.
