If you are Somali,and have a minimal intelligence to get into Somali history then you would definitely know that when another Somali ( let a lone someone who claims to be President of a country ) puts a word like Independence and mention the year of 1991 ,that there is ONLY one single event in the history of Somalis in the horn that happened in that particular year and also the event was about independence , this event was the declaration of independence Republic of Somaliland in 1991

I am not trying to link anyone to SL,I careless about HSM and what he represents,but I found it funny for a so called president of a country to have 31 years of error margin,even funnier that his memory only remembered 1991 the year what was called Republic of Somalia stopped to exist and Republic of Somaliland declared independence.

as of 26 June 1960, yes we got our independence from the Britons and we become a sovereign country under the name of STATE OF SOMALILAND ......while as in 18 May 1991 we withdrew from the failed union with the konfur and declare independence under the name of Republic of Somaliland ....2 distince independence, one from colonization ,the other one from failed union with the former ( and current ) UN trusteeship of Somalia

Man, you're psycho if you're getting something out of that interview with respect to SL. There was none. The only time that HSM mentioned 1991 when he stated "the Somali state collapsed in 1991" @ 1:56.

The only questionable remark was when he stated "Al-Shabaab was controlling all over the country." They were not but only southern part of the country. But he may mean there were huge swaths of land that was controlled by Al-Shabaab.

I gotta laugh at you though if you're getting out of something from that exchange. Unbelievable!

Just imagine this ( this is a hypothetical example now,dont come back with another hilarious comment like WHERE DID HSM MENTION PL EVER ), HSM at the same interview states that Somalia adopted the federal system in 1998. ( End of the Hypothetical example now ).

its Unbelievable now even for a simpleton as you ,to see that HSM has mistaken the year PL declared itself as a federal autonomous region with the year 2012 , that is when what was called ,Italian Somaliland, have adopted the Federal system of governance to all its local regional administrations.
