I saw those debates and to be honest was embarrased for them and the entire Somali people as whole. These were people all living overseas who almost none have a Somali passport or ID arguing about something such as a citizenship of a failed state LOL. They've been here for much longer and did not come as refugees. They came specifically for work/education. Look up the term "brain drain". You have poor reading comprehension. Nobody is saying that they are not half Somali. Clearly they are. What we're saying is that, islamically and culturally speaking, these kids cannot be considered to be full Somalis. You indicated that you are raising them upon Somali culture, I.e as Somali kids, and we are telling that no matter how you raise them, they cannot get to choose their identity when it comes to ethnicity. There are actual rules and regulations islamically as well as culturally.
