What we can say for sure is that the southerners have far more Bantu in them, than northerners have Arab. :)

No way kid. We have nothing to do with arabs. Isaaqs are pure Horn Africans, its a myth that our ancestors hail from the Arabian Peninsula particularly Quraysh, Our people created those fake Stories because they love Islam and prophet Muhammad csw. They believed that claiming the offspring of Muhammad would make them more noble and superior to others.

Is this true and are there genetic studies to back it up? Personally my family gets confused for Arab a lot, esp my sister and mom. I get confused for Indian a lot too.
That's the last of their worries , history can be researched but they failed their duties to teach you Somali , you are the first isaaq ever I heard whos parents failed to teach you Somali, when I was young if I spoke anything but Somali in the house hold a flying high heels was on my head. Its sad how these new generations of isaaq are lost.
 yea they should have taught me but what's done is done. Plus you try being born and raised in a western country, if you think your Somali is going to be the same as if you were raised back home then you are deluded man. Most of my Somali friends that were born & raised here are in the same predicament as I am, regardless of qabil.

Since u openned a can of worms, i'll do the honors. How certain are you, say if i were to go somewhere in the north i won't come across someone resembling very closely to the southern bantu counterparts?

Without doubt......because Somali's married north & south.
The point is your folks lived in close proximity to Bantu.....and clearly interbred. :)

OP you sound like a massive troll and need to grow the hell up. It is not a compliment to look like an Arab. Even the most light skinned Somalis have a completely distinct look than your typical Yemeni or Arab.

Its funny if you think about it, ive known plenty of extremly light skin Habeshas, allot more than Somalis, yet I havent met one Habeshi midget who claims that his people are from Yemen and Ive met 2 Somalilanders this week who claimed their roots is in Yemen. Somalis have to start taking pride in their African identity. Theres no point trying to link to a people who think us as only abd, even if we do have a straight nose and silky hair. Thiese coons atleast should empasize their cushitic identity if they feel the need to distance themselves from bantus. Not many east africans, even the light skin ones look Arab anyway.

They are like the midgaan of the Arab world and I die laughing everytime I see Somalis with their inferiority complex find comfort in claiming them to feel superior to other Somalis.

Listen, i am light skin borderline cad-cad but you won't catch me dead claiming to be anything other than Somali.

If people ask me if I'm mixed I simply say that I bleached my skin by mistake when I was a kid. Rather lie than aknowledge the Arab in me.
Aint that what beesha d...... claim to descend from

To be fair the most bantu looking somali are Majeerteen but they don't border bantu so your argument is flawed somewhat

Who were residing across the Somali lands before Pre-islamic Somalia? There were many historic porting cities such as Opone, Malao, etc...
Who were the Macrobians/ Land of Punt? (Somalis produce the most Uunsi)?
