Fuck the Kacaan regime for not recognising this legendary man, instead... propagating their own clansmen. Also screw them for screwing our democratic nation.

The darood reigme put Sayid Siigeyste as the greatest hero , when he was nothing
I have read about Sheikh barsane and he was actually more braver he was on the front and was horse riding where as sayid siigeyste always stayed in the camps of the dervishes never really went to the front. Hassan barsane died in battle where as sayid siigeyste fled from the battle and died in imeey where his wive naado was taken as a sex slave by the oromos. Sad that the Hawiyes did not erect a statue after the darood regime was defeated. Perhaps it has something to do with sh barsane not being a Haiwye but a gaaljecel qabyaalad gamuurtay

As Zidane wrote, Sheikh Xasan Barsan/me was not forgotten. Just like Muuse Galaal, Cisman Geedi Raage, Xaawo Taako, Maxamoud Xarbi (Djibouti), he got a high school named after him. Also Nasiib Buundo- the Bantu/Mushungli freedom fighter was honoured; a road was named in his honour.

Sheikh Xasan Barsane was a good friend of Sayid Maxamed Abdulle Xasan. He was his representative in the south. Both of them were members of the Saalixiya movement.

If there is someone who was not given due honour, it is Sheikh Aweys. He was an opponent of both Sayid Maxamed and Sheikh Xasan Barsane because he was of the leader of the Qaadiriya fraternity. Islam spread to as far south as Mozambique because of this movement. However, Sheikh Aweys did not fight the italians/British. He was a pacifist.
