Baby Hargeisa... Is it a boy or a girl?... that is the question!
Horta my huuno family of somalinut, greetings and hope all is well and bash bash iyo caano lo'aad.
Ta labaad I want to share something with you nutters, I don't if it is bad idea or bad lack to share such a news but share I must.
As you may know we've been in Hargeisa since June 15th and Last night xaaska felt unwell and ill and had to be taking to hospital...I have never worried so much in my life I was shaking like an 80 year woman with arthritis. Anyhow, after spending all night and day at the hospital, where the doctors did all they could to find out what was wrong with with little success, came a lady doctor youngish in her mid 30s to late 30s... Who began to examine xaaska. After some time and my patience exhausted the doctor asked me to leave the room where the wife laid so she could speak to her alone, at first I refused to leave but she insisted and assured me that I will be fully informed everything but that she must speak to the wife alone then after some members of the family and couple of nurses persuaded me to do what the doctor asked and leave the room so with great reluctance I did.
Hadal yaan kugu daalin ee, after being called back to the room, the doctor informed us that there was nothing to worry and said she will prescribe some antibiotics and paracetamol, as she spoke I intrupted her and "said what the heck you mean nothing to worry about she is ill she been vometting all night and unwell and in pain all day today...what you talking about"...the doctor turned to my wife and said you better tell him, "TELL ME WHAT" I shouted and my anger "WHAT Is wrong with her" increased then I heard the words " waar naga aaamus... you is what is wrong" what you mean said. Then came the bomb shell the sweetest and the best the greatest bomb I've ever known with a smile that melted my heart she said "there is a little sac inside me... you gonna be a father"
After I kept repeating how, when and how, I fainted. "So doctor are you saying there is nothing wrong with her?" I said after coming back from my brief coma absolutely said the doctor adding it's common and natural for first time mothers to unintentionally over exaggerate pregnancy sickness. To that I replied "whatta a qumayo made me miss my date with gaafane and making everyone worried sick" in my head of course I don't want to be grounded and miss the opportunity to see mujahidaisha in burta ka la jeexan.
So to conclude my "little" story here... When arrived back at our vacation home I come to find out that she is "probably 5-7 weeks" and that she had decided (Allah willing) to name the baby HARGEISA whether a boy or a girl.
And also I found out that I have no say in the matter like everything except putting buns in the oven.

Man that's brilliant idea. if the baby is female. hargeisa is a cool name. if he is boy make that hargeysawi , or maroodijeex. Somalis have too many similar names. Xamari, Saylici, burco or burci ( I have reer xamar with burci name ) .

Congratulations! Prepare to have your world turned upside down, in a good way
Im a father myself and it is the best thing in the world. It will change your perspective of life.
But the name Hargeisa is a bit much, to each their own.
