False. There were slaves from Arabia, Persia and elsewhere. Most Abyssinian slaves were captives of war from the short lived Abyssinian invasion of Arabia. Slavery was not based on a color code during those times.

Why would blacks hold authority in Arabia? And actually the Abbysianians ruled Yemen and southern Arabia for a period of time.

There were European slaves, Asian, African.

Al 3ansi al-Aswad ruled parts of Yemen. Abraha invaded and conquered all of Yemen. The Muslims sought refuge in Abyssinia under the protection of the Abyssinian Negus.

Usama bin Zayd, a black man, led the Muslim army in the first battle against the Romans at the ripe age of 17...

Get your knowledge up bruh...

Zayd Ibn Haritha, was dark skinned. We don't know about his father but we know for sure that his mother was Abyssinian. Usama was the son of Zayd. Put two and two together.

Also, "Arab" and "black" are not mutually exclusive. How is stating that a Saxaabi had black skin = disrespectful, you pompous ignoramus??

This hayawaan has no brains. Most slaves were Arabs from tribes that were conquered in the Gulf region. Abbysinia was an ally of the Early Muslims and gave them refuge since the Muslims were monotheistic in a sea of Pagans. As Islam grew larger and Persian and Roman lands were conquered many slaves came fromt those regions. Africa was among the last regions where Islam conquered so there weren't that many African slaves compared to the rest

But don't let reality get in the way of your racist garbage you ignorant idiot

arabs had levels of slaves......cabd and muwlaa العبد و المولى

mawla is like house negro, and wasnt sold or bought but captured a prisoner of war or a trophy of war or a raid, some times mawlaa is also a free slave who chose to remain with his captive or master if he was good to him and he has no where else to go....most of the mawalee were arabs.

there is also Mamlook مملوك
mostly of european descends ,they were taken from their families at a very young age, and were specially bread in the king's warfare school , they used to be foot soldiers and army leaders who knows no loyality but to their sultan or king, most of them lived in egypt.

cabid

the lowest form of slaves, exclusively Africans, to Arabs, to have a dark skin is a sign of slavery, unfortunately this level of slavery was the most brutal and inhuman , cabids used to be sold, bought and inherited like any other goods a person can have.

Alxamdulilah Somalis wasnt enslaved by any one, I have some old documents from the British high commission in Manama, Al bahrain , showing somalis as equal traders with the arabs, we used to bring them merchandise not only to their ports but also to their villages ......their was one incident were a somali skipper was killed by a group of bedweins in ras al khaimah , the british warned the sheekh to pay the blood money ,the sheekh refused to pay the full amount as slaves have no blood money or maybe a compensation to the owner.....the british alerted him that Somalis are far from being slaves and reminded him that there is even a law prohit to enslave somalis....also,somalis lay across the route to zinzibar and kenya where ships of the sheekh usually pass.....when somalis didnt get their fellow's blood money....they captured a ship of a famous arabic skipper and after some time in captivity and looting his ship they released him and finally the sheekh paid the full blood money.

I remember seeing this in a magazine in Arabic.
I was surprised that Reer ras alkhaima were honest about the matter.

I was mistaken, the murdered sailor was in 1919.
There was a ship full of Somalis that was captured by qawasim pirates in 1844, isaq in Aden captured a couple if trading ships belonging to qawasim I'm Aden as revenge.
The qasimis were about to send a full naval expedition but the British intervened.

Can someone dig up the original Arabic text, it's widely published
