I'm aware of the House Numbering and Post Code System that took place in Xamar a few years back, anything similar in Hargeisa?

The most affluent postal code in Somalia, is the upscale neighbourhood of Israac, in Gaalkacyo North.

currenlty there is a project by hargeysa municipality and UN HABITAT for modern city mapping that include proper street addresses :
Hargeisa local government (Municipality) in partnership with UN- HABITAT introduced the first city map for the capital of Somaliland.

The map of the city was created to enable any one to find the location , building or street that they may be looking for . The graphic representation of objects on Hargeisa map is greatly simplified, and reduced to understood symbols.

Hargeisa city map includes the city's transport network and other important information, such as city sights or public institutions, dry rivers and city districts.

Central to the information provided by Hargeisa city map is the city network, including its district names along with photos of important buildings and main streets. The map divides Hargeisa city into 5 districts namely ; Ahmed Dagah , Mohamed Moge , Ga'an Libah, kodbur and 26 June .

This map is the first of its kind in Somaliland and will ease street naming , land allocations and at the same time enable easy finding of important buildings and streets.

It's simple all roads should have, names based on Somaliland war heroes, such as the mujahidin of the SNM and Dervishes, And other notable people. local short roads must be named after its nearest unique, popular or historic landmark. Example, guriga number 01 wadada aw kadleeye. The name represents the owner of the oldest house in that line of buildings. There is mosque nearby my house. It has some Arabic name but all the people in the area call it masaajidka kallawsade, it's an important address .

Aqalka albaabka cas ee Aqalka koofiyada xidhan ka soo hor jeeda.
Geedka miri-mirida ah guriga uu ku horyaalo, xero riyoodku ka hor dhisan tahay.
Dukaanka labada albaab leh ee bari u jeeda markaad sadex guri dhaafto waaka afraad gurigii jamac laangadhe.
Tilmaantasanu anagu naqaanaa road maxaa keenay post code iskaba daa JAW iyo NAW
