The Berbera deal is outright theft, if anything it should have enraged you as the biggest looser in that great heist will be your qabiil state, not only is it against your 'state interest' (as a result UAE no longer investing in Bosaaso which they used as a carrot stick in the negotiation to force S/land hand) but against Somali interest.

Even Reer Berbera and most level headed landers I have spoken to are vehemently opposed to it, because it's a one-sided, brutal theft that will affect generations to come, as you may come to know unlike the Turks/Chinese the UAE made a lot of promises with NONE being fulfilled both in Koonfur/Waqooyi spanning decades, here is a brief list of all their broken promises some stretching a decade still not done, these people are not known for building anything themselves.

- New Somali Parliament building (never done)
- Mogadishu port (decade until it was given to the Turks)
- Bosaaso 20 million upgrade (half a decade still nothing done, with the Berbera recent heist unlikely to change)
- Garowe Airport (their incompetence was so bad project was given to the Turks whom are doing it)
- Hobyo Port/Fish stock ( Agreed with HSM but nothing done, complained when Turks/Chinese paid a visit)
- Training SNA (over a decade in the making still nothing done, the Turks stepped in)
- Bosaaso Airport (broken promise went back a decade until Chinese Stepped in and done it)
- Several Water wells up and down the countries with 100's of millions pledged, NOT DONE! (turks stepped in)

Currently they are blocking the internationalization of Mogadishu port because Dubai will suffer as after the Iranian's the Somali's are the second biggest income generators, they do not want to loose their cash cow. Unlike the Turks 5/10 years deal with millions in investment (clearly be seen) and 50/50 split revenue, the UAE deal will span several decades with just lip service and a few millions to corrupt politician's.

The Turks are in control of Mogadishu port, which leaves them Bosaaso and Berbera, since they are not naturally builders they rather take the port that's more developed as to safeguard their future revenue hence Berbera, especially now after a second corridor was opened which bypasses Dubai entirely in transit, ships dock at Oman on route to Mogadishu.
