I always laugh at how Issaqs can argue about the indivisibility of SL when it is apparent that the non Issaqs of SL are opposed to the secession. These same Issaqs then in the same breath will argue for secession. Why not secede the territories that are prounion?

Nice try but Somaliland is not successionist state it was independent state before italia somalia and it joined voluntary union with italia somalia 1960 a union that was never ratified and both courts of two independent states which made the union remain illegal from the start. In 1969 afweyne torn the fake union constitution to shreds and in 91 after the state collapsed the union was completely dissolved and somaliland redeclared there sovereignty once more and till this day thereturn is no match and if hawiye have problem with that I suggest they fight but don't support minorities to take a bullet for faqash somaliwayn dream that died in the sixties and seventies that's quite unrealistic.

The reason Somaliland became independent before Italian Somalia was because they needed to prepare for the already agreed unification. SL or the rest of Somalia had no say in this, it was devised by SOMALI NATIONALISTS and COLONIALISTS. It never agreed voluntarily, it was a forced marriage on both parts and both agreed. There was no unification treaty, no nothing.

Go read a history book written by the colonialist or written by a Somali in that period.

somaliland joining italia somalia is what helped italia somalia get there in idependance sooner. italia somalia wasnt going get there independance till 1961. somaliland protectorate came to argeement with british in april 1960 they recieved there independance june 26, 1960 so say thanks to state of somaliland for helping you italian bastariin out.
