Teach me how to save Money

Wallaahi I need help. I don't know why but I have a problem saving money. I have been in America for 16 years, I have been working in 1-2 and even 3 jobs sometimes but my savings cannot go beyond $1000-$2000 ever. I do not have balwad, I do not party, I do not go out much and I do not drive expensive or payment cars etc. I just pay my bills and live normal life. I want to save money for marriage, for building a house, for starting a business etc. I am just not gonna do all this without changing something. My energy is being wasted. I am just like a slave who works for food. Its hard saaxiibayaal. Even my own family think I must have money since I work and I have been in abroad for along time. I sometimes feel like getting my whole family off and tell them to go to hell. Again, can't do it coz God knows why.

Any serious advise?

Here's what you do, if you're serious about saving


1. Tell who ever you send money to go to hell, except your parent! If you mom goes on a hunger strike, Dnt worry she won't die, just tell yourself she is fasting

2. Hagbad ... Even if it's a few hundred. Once you get the hagbad Do something with it. Dnt put it in ur bank.

A Somali who saves mere 2k per year. Subhannallah. What's wrong with you man. All jokes aside aren't you at least part of the community minimally having exposure to means of how others do it. Even welfare slummers can save more than 30k minimum per year. Considered getting a loan if your credit score is good and using that money to start a business. Again something you know? Are you a good sales person? Plenty of stuff to sell to the gullible masses. What's that thing called the local marry go round scheme. Llook into it. Sxb don't mean to put you down but if you intend on leaving the west soon you better not be making anything less than 120k a year or you will be enslaving for decades to come. Good luck.

thanks Ugaas. I do not even have a network to do hagbad with. Not sure if we have guys in my mosque doing it. Its mostly a woman thing.

I send $500 a month. I know about $250 is necessity but not am sure no one will die for the rest.

am still trying to find a sista that will accept me with my $2000. How can I find a sister when they all need $10,000 for the marriage.

I eat at home mostly but I think I go out too sometimes. maybe that is why am broke. Need to cut that habit. Alxd am good with sadaqa.

sumu there should be that Islamic banking loans even though to me it's an oxymoron if there ever was one. Alternatively sales is a good bet if you are quite the savvy talker. Find partners to pitch to. Have you tried the Somali merry go rounds, I think it's called abuuto. Sxb and not meaning to come off as condescension but I'm really having a hard time taking this topic seriously because at least according to me if one has an issue talking and worrying about it won't help other than magnify the problem. Doing something concrete about it is the best bet. There is always something to be done.

There are no hutu in my village. Am from Kenya not Rwanda Dummy. Plus, I don't even support Somali militia.
