The Birth of a Nation: The Movie.

Post by Basra- »

Breath taking. I just finished watching it. It is a movie about the character Nat Turner--born 1800 and died 1831. Shocking. It is a slave who led a rebellion, killed a bunch of White slavers in a horrid way. The movie was violent, and strikingly gory. But not all of it, in the beginning it was cute, romantic, although contaminated with nuances of slave life which was not easy -yaaqqee! :x Much respect to the black slaves of those days. I will refrain from using the adoon word for now. Anyway, just wanted to share my thoughts.

Much respect to Nat Turner, but he's a flower-cat compared to characters from the Haitian revolution like desalinas. That dude frightened white people all the way back to Europe.

gurey

that is not a fair comparison though. Dessalines was a career military, he had many opportunities that Nat didn't have. The dude was an adoon napoleon for Gods sake. He end up being Haiti first black governor. He made Haiti an all black only island. :stylin:

Nat was a one man phenomenon. He had no education other than knowing how to read the bible, and purely rose up without aide from a fellow black general or any other military hierocracy like Dessalines. RIP Nat ! :dj:

Henry Francis is the man , he hanged all the remaining French and built the largest castle in the western hemisphere for defending the the island and said let them be in terror every time they pass by our coast.

I read Nat's biography few years ago , not a bad character , but I don't like the name of the movie " The Births of a nation " or " a birth of a nation" was the tilt of a racist movie in the 1920's praising the KKK , that movie caused the hanging of hundreds of blacks.
