Af -Maay is older than 'standard Somali'. Contains less foreign loanwords from Arabic, Persian, English and Italian.
It should be protected and promoted to every Somali individual (standard Somali also used it's words to replace some foreign words over the years).
Af maay latin alphabet.
Consonants; B P T J JH D TH R S SH DH G GH F Q K L M N NG W H Y Y’
Same 10 vowels as standard somali
Semi vowel; Y

When we were growing up in SoCal, all my homies and their families were from different areas of the country , my Somali to this day is a fusion of different unique dialects from the south to the north blending together in harmony.
I say kabteey (shoes)
I say noooh at the end of my sentence
I say xagee (where), imika (right now) eeg (look)
I ask people sees aate (seetahay in maaymaay)
