Future & Potential of the HiirShabelle State

Post by Xaldoon »

This state has huge potential..we hope that MW Cali Cabdullaahi Cosoble steers the state into the right direction and into prosperity and success.

Geographically, this state is rich in resources and importance; bordering the Galgaduud regions (Galmudug) to the east and the Bay, Bakool and Lower Shabelle regions (Koonfur Galbeed) to the west, and its close proximity to the nation's capital Muqdisho; the state has everything at its disposal to flourish. Not to mention the agriculture potential of the region and having a beautiful long coast line & access to the sea. The great river of shabelle runs through the entirety of the state starting from Balcad and continueing on to city of Beledweyne (and beyond into Somali-galbeed).

Main cities:
Jowhar - Formerly shabellada dhexe capital now capital of Hiirshabelle state
Beledweyne- Formerly hiiraan capital now second capital of Hiirshabelle state
Buloburde
Balcad
Jalalaqsi
Cadale
Matabaan
Mahadday
Warsheekh
Ceel-Cali
Moqokori
Aadan-Yabaal

With such potential, it's asinine that people are still dying from starvation/famine. Totally unacceptable.

Maashallah imagine what one can do with the shabele basin. With rainwater catchments and reforestation, you can double even triple the size of the river.
This small badly deforested area has the potential to feed all Somali and still export food.

lol i dont know where you got this idea of baledweyne being the second capital of hiirshabelle

hiiraan still exists as region that has its own governor and capital

since we r two different clans, things have been divided. jowhar is the capital but baledweyne will get more stuff like a modern airport bc it hosts the UNSOM regional office, american planes for the djibouti troops..i call it the diplomatic capital

if i give example, women and youth organisations have to go to baledweyne. recently jowhar journalists have been to baledweyne for a workshop on how to cover the elections. this was done in kismayo, garowe and baydhabo too
http://unsom.unmissions.org/office-locations

economically we r not connected. hiiraan is connected economically to the central and nothern regions while jowhar and afgooye are connected to mogadishu

starting the highway from matabaan to baledweyne and then from xamar to jowhar and leaving the rest for another time indicates all this

we just share administration.
