Re: Is there hope for Somalia?
Hope is the stronger cousin of fear and the oldest kin of struggle and the living will of tomorrow --Rabshoole. Somalia will rise from the ashes someday! Keep hope alive.

Re: Is there hope for Somalia?
there's always hope but i don't see the situation changing anytime soon, at least not in my lifetime. the reason why i say this is because of the rampant corruption and instead of using qabiil to support their kin and use it as a way of friendly competition, somalis are using it to fight over barren land and sand dunes.
not to mention the ingrained corruption has led to the somali army being cannon fodder for al shabaab. this somali army on its own can never beat al shabaab, not in a million years. they're poorly trained, unpaid, lack morale and most importantly the army is just a large confederation of rag tag clan militias. we all saw the infighting btw clans in the army in baladweyne and also in the lower shabeelle.
somalia needs a "laangaab" president to play neutral and not stoke the flames of perpetual clan warfare. instead of trying to have the edge on the other major clans, he would do what's in the interest of the country.
