Jabuutawi

Ina Adeer, people wrongly assume that I am knowledgeable in genetic genealogy. I am not much use when it comes Autosomnal DNA, Neanderthal ancestry etc as my interest in genetics is limited to y-dna and the uses it has in establishing how real Qabil identities are. Hence, I am not much help and one is better off consulting the DNA Geeks such as Estarix, Itrah/Amun on SomaliSpot or Awale on Anthromadness for some of the questions you have.

That being said, thanks for taking the test and welcome to the Beesha Hablogroub T.

Bro

What are you waiting for cuz?

LH

Too early to say whether Dirs are mainly T. T is also present in Daroods, in small percentages, and non Garxajis Isaaqs. I am sure you are familiar with the Madagascan paper and the prevalence of Haplogroup T among some tribes that live there. If T got to Madagascar and Zimbabwe via the Indian Ocean, then anything is plausible in regard to the founding father that some Somali haplogroup T carriers descend from, but I do agree that we most likely expanded into the Horn of Africa with the Cushites.

Somalis are as homogeneous as they come, we have only two paternal haplogroups, T-M70 and E-V32. I don't believe the Koreans or Japanese can claim that title.

In my opinion they are still Somali. Why shouldn't they be just because they have less percentage. I see how you skipped the MENA question it's all good though lol. The majority has recent North African ancestry and no middle eastern.
LiquidHYDROGEN wrote: Wed Jan 25, 2017 3:27 pm T and E3b both arrived from North Africa/Levant during the Neolithic Farming revolution.. They are heavily associated with the Afro-Asiatic people.

Thanks for the clarification. Is it safe to assume then that that's the reason why majority of Somalis have recent North African ancestry. If what you're saying is true it all makes sense looking at the ancestry composition.

On 23andme every Surre is T, without exception. That's from my own research.
But Zumaale knows better than me.

No that I know of. Highly unlikely to have much divergence within Surres, it ain't like we have a history of assimilating others.

That is the most creative way so far to announce your genetic testing I like it :) Such a cute and beautiful dog yet so dangerous. I would never trust that breed and to pre-empt in advance i'm not scared of dogs even picked up and pet several of them.

I believe there is a pattern forming of Dir/HY coming out T.

I'm Ciidagale and I'm T. I don't think it's just HY within Garxajis that are exclusively T, but the Ciidagale are as well.

Jabuutawi, where does it give you this info about you 1720 ancestor? I have never seen 23andme give this out. It is probably maternal, Somalis seem a lot more diverse on the maternal side than they are on the paternal side.
K13/K15 seems to have the most accurate oracles on Gedmatch. It help you decipher your true ancestry better then 23andme espeicially inter horner ancestry.

When I first got my results I didn't know anything about Genetics or even my JB history. So an extremly cool Somali dude called Awale(who actually has an extremely informative blog btw called anthromadness) ran my results through calculators like the K13,K15,K7 and K36.Apparently I have some distant Oromo ancestor(female) but that blood was extremely diluted after remixing back into the Somali genepool.Probably some Akisho/Jaarso female anyways here are my oracles

K13

Using 4 populations approximation:
1 Ethiopian_Wolayta + Somali + Somali + Somali @ 1.004604

Bro, I am yet to see any Darood or Hawiye who is T. I've seen at least 2 Darod (who were both Warsangeli) if my memory serves me correctly on 23andme who are Haplogroup J. And the only way I could identify that was because on their status its showed that they were from 'Badhan' Sanaag and another which is a Warsangeli settlement.

But Allahu Aclam

Veganista, breakdown of my MENA is as follows:

5.7% North Africa
0.1% Broadly MENA

It was merely an oversight on my part if I did not initially address the question to your satisfaction. Hopefully this post clarifies to your heart's content, ;) .

Wait, eey ba tabaatay? Eeyga maynu najas ahayn? :wtf:, :russ:.

Can you explain how the population approximation show you had an oromo female ancestor? Also what does the number at the end mean?

Shit be confusing.

:notsure: :lupe: Wait, how do you share genetic affinity with Wolayta, they are largely omotic. Somalis have very tiny omotic DNA, if any at all?
