I don't know too much about the money circulation in Somalia (I'm assuming many of the diaspora/elites only use the dollars), but in another step getting back sovereignty....Somalia will print first real banknotes in 25 years and the IMF will help. These will be totally new banknotes with anti-counterfeit tech

The IMF also says Somalia's creditors are now interested developing a plan with the new Somali government for DEBT RELIEF (not that anyone was asking us to pay back debts anytime soon tbh)
