Michael Mariano was the hero of Somali irredentism, this man fought more for the return of the occupied Somali territories than any other Somali politician or activist to ever live.

A friend and a very close associate to freedom fighters like el Haji Farah Omar and Sheikh Bashiir.

He started a political party (NUF) to protest the transfer of Somali territories and as a lawyer appealed to the British government and the United Nations for the return of our land.

He led two delegations to London (British Government) and New York (UN) and even tried to submit our case to the international court but did not have enough support.

When he died in Mogadishu he received a state funeral. May his soul rest in peace.

You do realize it is a sin upon you to say "May Allah forgive him" knowing he died upon the path of kufr, right?

The more correct view, concerning the correctness of which the scholars are unanimously agreed, is that supplication (du‘aa’) may be made for guidance for a kaafir who is still alive, but not for mercy or forgiveness. Among the evidence that this is more correct is the report narrated by al-Tirmidhi (2739) and Abu Dawood (5038) from Abu Moosa (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: The Jews would pretend to sneeze in the presence of the Prophet (blessings and peace of Allah be upon him) hoping that he would say to them, “May Allah have mercy on you,” but he used to say: “May Allah guide you and set your affairs straight.”
