RAIN DOWN THIS THREAD. POP POP

Post by SimplySerene »

Salam
How much foreign involvement should be involved when building back up
I want to know where you guys draw the line with people strolling in
I want gurey Xplaya, Xididd, Sahanheed, Liquid, Rambie, Lamagoodle, PrinceDadi, Perfectorder, Futurist, etc
To all crash down on this topic please. Make it rain with words

All areas
Development, education , building
1.Where do you draw the line? I want you to use examples of places that went to far.
2.if Malaysia strolled in asked how we can help? What would you say?
3.Talk about the boundaries you don't want crossed and you can use examples like the port, NGO, trade exchange, tourism etc

And what you actually feel comfortable with and how you want to manage it

Usually foreign investment mean private ownership of the entire wealth of the country.

I believe in public ownership of key resource.

Cool.

How about the Malaysia question

Like if they created projects sending people over to increase literacy, and utilizing a NGO currently there.
Or sending Teachers,
other educators for training people
Do see you any issues?

Yes. Its about time we resist this culture of begging and been forever a charity case. There is enough wealth in SL with good management.

capital! thats all we need badly if sland was to develop seriously then tons of investment is needed. theres no functioning commercial bank in sland rn, dahabshiil doesnt finance anything thats not existed before, telesom bank gives only 30 pct.and the wahabi elite in sland refused the passing of commercial bank law that could pave the way for foreign bank and investment institutions.

as sland doesnt currently recieve adequate international development assistance and loans, if you are really serious about contributing back home you could utilize your time and money in putting a decent project with employment and dev impact and pitch it as unsolicited proposal or investment to development finance institutions such as denmarks DANIDA, swedens SIDA , USAID, german development bank, world banks private srctor financier IFC, african development banks AFD, and many other private investment companies active in development finance.
the good thing is this they are all willing to finance development innktiative in africa and prioritize projects that alleviate poverty, create jobs, education, water and sanitations etc. and most important the funds are usually grants mixed with loans or equity.

I was vague

I am make up examples

Example:
Someone might have PHd completes fieldwork archaeology and brings a crew other specialists
http://africaspeaks4africa.org/meet-sad ... the-world/

Example:
Someone brings a Forensic team of Specialists
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/wires/ap/art ... malia.html

Example:
Someone brings students and teachers with conversation forest efforts
https://students.ubc.ca/career/internat ... eld-school

For me I will probably utilize healthcare and education

I hope that helped. I want know if you guys notice anything in these examples that would be a concern

healthcare: this is underdeveloped sector, the whole population is uninsured and dont have enough medical service. due to high cost ppl only get medical attention when theyre really sick.

another very serious problem is we have one of the worst maternal mortality rate in the world, 1,400 maternal deaths per 100,000 births and infant mortality rate is 73 per 1,000 births while the under-five mortality is approximately 117 per 1000.
what did somaliland gov and business elites did to adress this issue? nothing. while many private health service probiders sprang in the country, they only seek profit and doesnt contribute to the wellbeing of average landers ~ 2/3 of population. the public hospitals are neglected and inadequately funded.the medicines are inferior amd much is counterfiet drugs that you wouldnt even trust with animal.
this is why apr. 200 ppl can just die for cholera!
the healthcare is disaster.

a proposal i always dreamed is to create a public private partnership to takeover the healthcare, the gov thru ministry of health sets policy and guidelines for a private provider to invest, manage, operate the national healthcare system for 20 years. this private provider can invest anywhere between $5-10million then initiate mandatory health insurance like the world acclaimed rwanda health insurance which everybody pays $1 dollar per year and gets treatment anytime. the rich will pay more, the employers will also contribute to it .if successful this insurance with superb reform of the system we could have easily fix our health woes and it will be free from politics that change hands at the ministry of health every 5 years.

it might look ambitious and difficult but trust me it can work. it all needs someone whos dedicated and serious. the world bank has some PPP models that are tested and implemented in developing world and they can help with such initiative in sland and prolly help with investment and guarantees thru multilateral investment guarantee agency that will facilitate funds and provide political risk insurance if some knucklehead odey or qabiil tries to cause trouble.
we are past the stage to ask volunteers to our problems. tangible effort is needed now.
lemme know if anyone is interested in this proposal.
