Marriage - a serious discussion

Post by thehappyone »

I'd thought by now I would walk into a bookstore and bump into my soulmate, but now I'm 29 it's time to give up on that fantasy and do it the Somali way.

So I have a couple of questions, serious answers from experience only please.

Get married in the west or back home?

How does one find a spouse in the west. I know there are many ways, but what's the most common.

How much does marriage in the west cost. Don't give me that 20k+ BS. I know guys on benefits that have gotten married. And if they paid 20k+ how did they do it? Break down the cost, is there a down payment or is it all upfront.

Does one start saving before he marries or does he agree to marry someone and then start saving.

At 29, what's a realistic age group I can target. I'm thinking 20-24 since I have no bidaar.

To be honest I'm not stressing, cause if I hit 30 the decision to marry a 17 year old from back home will be a lot easier. :eat:

try in the west if you cant find good one, back home its but if you do so, she has to be related to you and dont bring her to the uk right away, dhowr caruur waa inay dhashaa frist.

through friends, family members, malls, parties, streets, masjids, online ....

dnt pay more than 5k for meher, mybe another 5-10k for aroos, 10k for house stuff, adeer marriage in here isnt cheap, but remember unlike back home she will contribute you wont have to pay all of that by urself.

lol adeer can you for shopping without $$?

18-35 ... the older she is the less you will have to pay, marka if you want a good deal than go for 30+ :eat:

I remember when Snet was a good hunting ground!

Btw do you know that to bring a spouse to the UK requires you to have at least 18 G in your account and a minimum income of 18 G a year?

On second thought, it has to be a uk xalimo since I'm up for deportion myself after brexit. :snoop:

through friends, family members, malls, parties, streets, masjids, online

I have no friends, avoid family, don't attend parties anymore, and too antisocial to approach a random person at the mall or street. Online it is!

So basically all I need is 5k. Weddings aren't necessary, the house stuff I will get on finance.

18-35 ... the older she is the less you will have to pay, marka if you want a good deal than go for 30+ :eat:

I don't think a 30+ xalimo will have the energy to go so many rounds :pac:

I've seen guys who don't work bring their wives over. It costs between 5 to 10k. You're talking about legit sponsorship.
