Teddy Afro: Gacanyare, Waachis come in
The legendary Ethiopian artist, Teddy Afro, is about to release his much anticipated ETHIOPIA album soon.
I know you both like his art but I would say Waachis may be offended by his Tikur Sew (the black man) single while Gacanyare loves abebayehosh (new year).
What's your take on his new single from Ethiopia album? He hasn't released the official video but YouTube lyrics video received 2.3 million views in two weeks.
It's very promising but we need a production like Tikur See.

The assumption that I, as an oromo, would dislike teddy, is based on the fact that teddy always praises menelik and even called his conquest a ''holy war.''
anyways, i'm not into his music. i prefer oromo, afar and saho music and old eplf revolutionary songs
here's a favorite of mines
and another

teddy afro is a very good singer i like the new album u posted anigu what i like about teddy aka tedros. is his commitment to ethiopia and he him self is an entertainer he such a great entertainer. teddy works hard his music is nice and he is the best of the amharas. tekur saw was tribute to menelik the emperor that saved ethiopia from colonisation i believe him honoring the late king is just a positive thing.

I like teddy afro but ethiopians are some weird nationalists. They even play teddy's new single "Ethiopia" on weddings. nationalism song about Ethiopia on a wedding? are you kidding me? what is wrong with these xabashis, seriously?

I have been to one of his concerts and was packed. He sang a Somali song that is popularly known as Guuleed hurdow.
The Oromo folks all knew that song and they were all on the dancefloor more so than when he sang Oromo songs including duufesilaale ya habooy durboo magaalla.
He will come to Aussie soon but to perform for whites. He is with Mohamud Ahmed.
