Somali president calls for unity talks with break away Somaliland
Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has called for unity talks between his country and break away region Somaliland.
Farmajo said during Somalia’s 57th independence anniversary speech on Saturday that the government is committed to relaunch talks with Somaliland as soon as possible, Somali news agency SONNA reported.
He expressed hope that the two regions will solve their differences and be united.
Although not recognised as a sovereign state, Somaliland declared its independence from Somalia on May 18, 1991.

Somaliland, with a population of about 4 million, can boast of an army, its own currency and legal system and is appreciated for holding credible elections.
The territory has been experiencing stability and economic prosperity and has been influential in the fight against piracy and terrorism in the horn of Africa.
The territory had been under pressure to hold talks with Somalia which have so far been futile.
25 years of diplomatic isolation has made it difficult for Somaliland to have access to loans from the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.

The butcher of Hargaysay is sitting right next to Farmajoo, so how can their be talks. SL should declare war. But in truth Farmajoo only controls 1 block in Mogadishu, talking to him would be humiliating for SL. They should ignore him because that homeless Fagash is looking for credibility.

Sl's please ignore this dameer, just politely instruct the dameer to mind his own business. He doesn't know what he's talking about. Just today there was a huge explosion in Mogadishu. There is no government, no law and order and no security. Farmajoo doesn't even control 1 block in Mogadishu. His facebook government is packed with corrupt Fagash stealing and looting whatever they can. Dameer-malia is a hell hole nightmare, since Feb and until now 600+ people were killed via explosions in Mogadishu alone. But the dameer says that its all paradise. Somalilanders just keep on running and NEVER look back. Whatever you do do not give homeless Farmajoo any recognition by sitting down with him. Don't give the homeless fagash the opportunity to damage Somaliland. He is powerless and there is NOTHING he can do.He is weak and injured so whatever you do, do not give him political legitimacy. There is going to be a civil war, just sit back, drink some tea and enjoy. Inshallah soon you will have the best possible chance to break away from Dameer-malia.

Go and cry to your Fagash masters. When someone tells you the TRUTH you can't handle, besides this is not your thread. And who gave you the right to advise reer Somaliland when your own backyard is a hell hole. When you fix your own back yard and get that Fagash off your back then maybe you can advise reer Somaliland but at the moment you are embarrassing. Freedom of speech, if you don't like what I say then maybe you shouldn't be here debating. I hate dameers, nothing worse than a dameer who sees himself intellectual kk. Dameer just for a sec can you UNDERSTAND my view is different than yours. Can you just accept that not everyone agrees that Farmajoo's facebook government is glorious kk.
Can you not understand and tolerate that people can have different views of the same picture. If I was from Sl, I would say " Dameer leave my people alone and go and fix your own back yard, we don't want anything to do with you". But these people are too polite and tolerate your crap. Somalilanders have made something out of themselves through unity, hardwork and wisdom. So how can you advise a people who are better than you? Look, if you wish to be a slave for fagash than go ahead but don't expect reer Somaliland to do so and become like you. People have different qualities and grades. These people have RESPECT, something your DAMEER mentality can never comprehend. I am not a Dameer, I am a Hawiye. There's a big difference. We are not the same, I don't like Fagash nor Farmajoo and that's the story I want the world to know so that the record is straight.
