The original Buddha, as were many of the idols, were righteous Muslims.
It was only after they passed away the people were led from remembering them to worshiping them.

This is one of the main reasons people have issues with the practice of worshiping at the graves of Sufi Saint's.

Sxb......most of the Hindu, Egyptian, Buddhist idols have their antecedents in much more ancient legends/myths etc.

i wasnt kidding when i said its the most atheistic teaching out there.
its not even really a religion at its core, its more of a philosophy.

allot like Taoism, buddhism is also considered a path, or way like the teachings of Lao Tzu
