Like ben dover said its 176,119.2 km2 or 68,000 squares miles is correct somaliland protectorate measurements excluding hawd reserve areas I dont know where those other figures came from people pull nunbers out their ass in wiki.

The Anglo- Ethiopian treaty of 1897 ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anglo-E ... ty_of_1897) negotiated Rennel Rodd and Ras Mekanon left somaliland with 55, 000 km less. Both the Hawd and Reserve area predominantly a land belonging to British Somaliland tribes were seceded to Ethiopia in return for Ethiopian help against the Sudanes Mahdis.

Few months later in 1898 the new Somaliland consul general James Hayes Sadler broke the news result of the agreement to a group of Somalis in Zeila. He expected an outrage but he was surprised when the Somalis listened with total indifference. They were bored and kept swatting flies out off their faces.
