Basic Income could be the way to fix the situation in Somalia
Globalism is coming to Somalia. Minority rich and a majority poor, a shrinking middle class and soon to come oil oligarchs.
Basic income could be the way to stop people from being corrupted by Terrorists as they're not hungry, also stop people from doing tahriib. If we look at the salaries of the leaders, the money they steal, if we spread it out, everybody could be rich.
I'm looking to start out a revolution in Puntland, I don't know if I'll survive it, but you know the society is in dire need of change when they turn to Terrorists. Some blame Gaas, Faroole or corrupt leaders for this, however if a society is happy with these people as leaders then the society must be corrupt itself.

Puntland, is already the only Somali federal state that could boast of having successfully implemented guaranteed income scheme for all its citizens.

Re: Basic Income could be the way to fix the situation in Somalia
Somalia never had a middle class mate, it was about to develop in the 80s, but in the 50-60s and even early 70s we had elites owning majority of the wealth, we had a lower class working for the elites and we had geeljires who were not part of the economic system.
Today we have exactly the same shit we had in the 50-60, socialism failed in Somalia why attempt to reintroduce it ?

Nope we had Middle class which consists of lawyers/doctors/health care workers/ teachers/Pilots. Upper class were generals/businessmen/ traders/land owners..... etc. Working class: government workers public sector, farmers; vendors.....Adali wrote: Wed Nov 08, 2017 9:22 am Somalia never had a middle class mate, it was about to develop in the 80s, but in the 50-60s and even early 70s we had elites owning majority of the wealth, we had a lower class working for the elites and we had geeljires who were not part of the economic system.

However there was government mortgage for public services workers (working class), private mortgage from construction companies to private sector. Our population was small 5 millions, also we had large diaspora in Gulf countries.

I am not saying we didn't have an equal society, there were free education and health care, even if you needed an operation outside or you needed to study abroad. These services do not exist anymore, you have to pay big money and bribes to get good education or get health care.Canuck2 wrote: Wed Nov 08, 2017 11:53 amNope we had Middle class which consists of lawyers/doctors/health care workers/ teachers/Pilots. barbs
Do they really pay every body a fixed money? I mean, I know in 60 minutes they say, that could be the way for the future. Fixed money to replace disappearing job industries in the future. This will solve a lot of problems walaahi. But I am afraid it will create a mass laziness, and no innovation would happen.

^ Basra, there are only two nations in the world that have succeeded in fully implementing guarenteed income system for its citizens, first being Norway and second the resource-rich Gulf of Aden nation of Puntland. Alxamdulilaah, hadaan reer Puntland nahey, we are eating good thanks to the best shab system ever known to son of Adam.
