Omar Jamal: Somali Justice Advocacy Center Minnesota
Its time to deport this character who is living in the States illegaly. Omar Jamal has gone from advocacy to playing part in Somali politics. As such he needs to be deported back to Canada where he came from. He sought asylum in the States after having lived in Canada for many years and obtaining Canadian citizenship. He lied to the INS in his ayslum claim by stating he was a Somali refugee when in fact he was a Canadian citizen.
Its time to send this carpet bagger back to the Dixon projects.

WHAT IS WRONG WITH OMAR JAMAL AND MANY OF THE OTHER SOMALIS IN MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA? -Ahmed M. Ali
Friday, October 07, 2005
Since last year after the (275) parliamentarian warlords and the so-called intellects elected Col. Yusuf, people in Minneapolis and Minnesota in general were divided about Yusuf and the un-resettled government. Many of Yusuf’s tribe is so happy that he became president, not on behalf of Somalis but because of he is their tribe. Everywhere they talk about him, his government, he did it, and so on. I don’t care whoever heads Somalia, whether it is a warlord, a warlord friend or a warlord son. However, I have lost many of my college Somali friends because since we are in our mid twenties and have never had political discussions of any kind before, they suddenly started talking about Col. Yusuf and that he will be much better than all other former interim presidents. I was born and raised in an Arab country and I have never been to Somalia. I don’t belong to any of the tribes competing president position. I dream that Somalis would sooner rather then later come together and build their country and people, once for all. Since I wasn’t born and raised in Somalia, I never understood deeply how Somalis use “Tribalism or Qabyaalah?!†Now since last year I did understand that Somalis use “Qabyaalah†no matter what!. For example, if they know the person they are supporting is going to hell, they will never hesitate even though they know they may go to hell, too. I am addressing this to all Somalis, every Qabiilah. Somali-Minnesotans are no exception; they may rather represent worst apples among Somalis.
Recently, on October 7, 2005, Omar Jamal, a man who claims to be the head of Somali Justice Center of Saint Paul, Minnesota, wrote an article to Minnesota’s biggest daily news paper (Star Tribune). In it, he showed that Somalis are united and that he is talking on behalf of them, however, he is admonishing Prof. Ali Galeydh, that the Prof. is the only one against Col. Yusuf, and that all Somalis are backing the option of (the neighboring country’s) military force against Somalia so that this government would success. In the following you can read his conclusions; I just copied from the paper’s website, <http://www.startribune.com/stories/1519/5644855.html>.
He wrote:
“Ali Khalif Galaydh apparently has not given up his ill-considered policy toward Somalis, and I wonder what he would suggest to remedy the political crisis in a country as fragmented as Somalia. The practice of democracy is a fairy tale without the rule of law. I do not see how anyone can pull the Somali country back together democratically within our lifetimes without some use of force.
The Somali people are not divided about having a government back in Somalia whatever the cost it might be. The concern expressed by the Prof. Galaydh that military support from a country like Ethiopia to disarm the militias would reignite civil war is politically impetuous.
It is time that Galaydh stop trying to evade the real issue, and accept the need to bury enmity against neighboring counties and start a new page of collaboration and peaceful coexistence.†His signature: Omar Jamal is executive director of the Somali Justice Advocacy Center in St. Paul. October 1, 2005. -
I wonder who are the Somalis that are behind his decision except the few blind and boneheaded individuals of his own Qabiilah, whom every Somali-Minnesotan has seen how they were acting since last year? However, criticism is open and I do agree he can say whatever he wants to Prof. Galeydh or anybody else, but I thousand-times wonder how come he is using the biggest Minnesota paper, in which he is informing that Galeydh is against Somalia’s current government whereas all other Somalis in Minnesota are for the government, by any means necessary. Why not he uses the Qabaa’il websites instead of this paper? Doesn’t he understand that Minnesota Americans would laugh at Somalis do hate each other because of Qabyaalah? I wish he can come up with viable arguments that all Somalis can buy.
Omar Jamal himself is disgrace to Somalis in Minnesota because he has an immigration issue that is not settled yet, and he claims to head Somali justice center. How can he talk on behalf of Somalis since he lied to the immigration and is not neutral about Somalis? With many others like Saado Ali, Ahmed Ali Egaal and many of their sub-clans, did they celebrate for the previous interim government of Arta? No, they didn’t because Dr. Abdul-qaasim is not their clan; but, perhaps they would celebrate if Col. Yusuf would have approved instead of condemning.
The night Col. Yusuf was nominated to be Somalia’s TFG president, suddenly they all (including some Wadaads) rented and gathered in Minneapolis Convention Center where Minneapolis mayor was invited and Saado and Egaal were singing Somali national anthem all night long... Waah Waah! That was clearly Qabyaalah. Why support an individual whether warlord or not just because that person belongs to your Qabiilah? For the worst, the recent U.N. world leader’s conference, Omar Jamal with Saado and hand-picked relatives traveled on for New York in order to welcome Col. Yusuf. They videotaped their celebration and they watch the party they had in Minnesota everyday. (The reason I cut my friends, because it is too much exaggerations). However, I read that Shareef Hassan got the welcome of mixed Somalis including Prof. Galeydh. None of Yusuf’s supporters or Qabiilah was happy about the parliament speaker. Shame on you! Those of you who are shameless. Know that Somalis are Qabiil-oriented but not too dumb about your scandalous and unthinkable actions. Mr. Omar Jamal, no matter how you support and mobilize your relatives, no matter how you promote personal and tribal interest, be ware of what you doing, including writing articles in the local paper; instead use Somali websites like your Qabiilah website. Remember: the more you dig a hole, the sooner you may fall and regret. I wish you would be advised against your actions by yourself only; otherwise, bring it on, we may witness the ugly outcomes of ridiculous deeds.
He talks often to the US media especially the Star Tribune of Minneapolis.
What concerns me is his politics on Somalia and his shift from advocacy of local Somali issues in Minnesota to becoming a supporter of one faction of the DKFMG
Than you need draft a proper document and petition signed by as many Somalis in Minnesota as possible and have a meeting with the local Newspaper. Send the same information to the local TV news media.
