DP To start constrution of free zone in berbera

Dubai's DP World will break ground on a free zone project in Somaliland this year.

The final agreement to develop the greenfield free zone was signed between officials from DP World and Somaliland's government in Dubai.

DP World to develop Jafza-inspired free zone in Somaliland

Located next to Port of Berbera, the 12km2 economic free zone is expected to support the port's growth and generate jobs.

Logistics, warehousing, and manufacturing will be the key business lines serviced through the free zone.

I doubt anything substantial will emerge from this deal.
The economic model UAE is following in s/l is one of arrested development and economic parasitism.

Similar deals have been implemented all over the developing world with little or no benefit to the natives and local economy.
Obviously s/l having been starved of foreign investment for 30+ is desperate for any sort of deal.
