Wiil Waal and the Gaala(Oromo) conflicts
Do you know of any English language sources where I can find the chronicles of Wiil Waal real name Garaad Xirsi and his wars and conflicts with the Gaala/Oromo?
P.s. to Our Oromo members, do you know or heard of the legend of Wiil Waal the Somali Chief who had a numerous battles with his neighbouring Oromo tribes?
Somalis have their version of this history and it would be very very much appreciated to hear the Gaala/Oromo versions of these conflicts.

I am not going to argue about Ghengis Khan, what kind of man he was or what he had done so not to deraile the topic of the thread but following quotes I think best answers your question!Khalid Ali wrote: Tue Apr 03, 2018 6:04 pm Why do you find ghengis khan interesting it was a sick empire that invade beautiful Bagdad do you support such a man and admire ghengis shaydaan
"History is for human self-knowledge ... the only clue to what man can do is what man has done. The value of history, then, is that it teaches us what man has done and thus what man is."
"Mankind are so much the same, in all times and places, that history informs us of nothing new or strange in this particular. Its chief use is only to discover the constant and universal principles of human nature."

Just read first footsteps in east Africa and you will find out that wiilwaal was nothing of the sort Daarood made him to be in the 1970s.
Wiilwaal was a nomadic small chief he settled between Zeila and Harar and there was no oromo in that region in the 19 century.
Wiilwaal was a subject to the Amiiir of Harar and the Amiiir of Zeila.

Re: Wiil Waal and the Gaala(Oromo) conflicts
According to his Daarood oral history from the 70s Wiilwaal was some sort of Daarood king Arthur. But if you read the actual politics in first half of the 19 century wiilwaal was nothing of that sort.Advo wrote: Wed Apr 04, 2018 1:03 am ^man xplaya, is every Somali prominent individual who happen to be from darood clan a fraud? He was a nomadic chief no greater or lesser then the rest of his contemporaries.
Zeila, Harar and Shoa were the three powers that ruled over , the Gedabirsi, Ciise and Jidwaq/Geri.
1- the Geri Koombe Garaad Aden was allied and subject of the Amiiir of Harar. Thats the further most Daarood clan.
2- wiilwaal was Bartire his region was east of Jigjiga and he came under Sharmarke Ali Saleh of Zeila/ Berbera governor, followed by both Ciise and Gedabursi Ugas.
Between those two rival power the king of Shoa was the third and he was an ally of Zeila.
There was no Oromo anywhere close to Bartire region, so him fighting Oromo in Jigjiga is a recent invention . Also the claim he was a power broker is falls.
All the above can easily be verified if you read the power politics of that region between 1800-1862.
The rest is his few poetry and example of his wisdom. Nothing also unique there, most of the old chiefs have their own wild exploit.
Enter Afweyne and Idaajaa and constant Daaroodism agenda including naming a school after him and it becomes obvious how his fiction was created.

Waxaa doontid igu cay but you must know that Xaarka lo'du is a useful material and helps us in a variety of ways. It's also a plentiful and renewable resource. It's a shame when it's wasted.
Xaarka lo'du has a soft texture and people with wisdom tends to give it the alternate name of COW PIES.
The manure is used as a rich fertilizer, an efficient fuel and biogas producer, a useful building material, a raw material for paper making, an insect repellent, and a disinfectant.
Therefore, nin nasiiib badan oo caqli leh weeyi ninka xaarka lo'da xajista amaba xajisankaraa madaama eey shame tahey when it's wasted.
And No Huuno, I don't support anyblood sucking bastar whether he is yellow or with Afweyn AND Specially when the the blood that is being sucked is that of cows.
