Though it depends where you live, if you're in a dodgy area, people can get pretty ominous at night. Around where I live, the nearest petrol station has a bullet hole in the window from 15 years ago during an attempted robbery.

Here in Britain people don't always help you when you're in need, they just film you on their phones instead. Older people are generally lonely and isolated from the rest of the world. Over half of them aged 75 + live alone. The majority get put into Care Homes because their families don't have time for them anymore. My wife used to be a Care Worker so I know the reality. It's pretty shocking.

Do you mean the weather. If so, true. Britain is grey, and dreary a lot of the year.
