TPLF may still call some shots but I believe it's eroding away. It's dying and is slowly being reclaimed by Oromo and Amhara same way nature reclaims ancient ruins.
As of today;
PM: Oromo
President: Oromo
Foreign Minister: Oromo
Many senior ministers are Oromo and won't be long before the army leadership is made to welcome their Oromo leaders. After all Abiye is well connected to the army and intelligence apparatus.
The question is who is driving the Eritrea-Ethiopia peace initiative?
This one could go both ways. It could be the last effort by TPLF to finally kiss the superior Hamasien ring in exchange for future safe passage, collaboration like EPLF-TPLF days, and restore their debilitating resources.
We know Isaias always wanted to control Ethiopia through his own Tigray-led operations namely TPDM, Tembien influencers. He was not against Tigrais controlling Ethiopia but against the Adwa-Axum establishment who were hostile towards him and didn't share his vision or that of Enderta and Tembien Tigrais.
So it could be an effort to revive Tigringya speakers control over Ethiopia.
The second case is that Abiye outsmarted the TPLF and initiated it. If this is the case, TPLF is pretty much defeated.
I know some of the Tigrais protested his visit and the signing off Badme officially to Eritrea.
We can say Oromo is back and when I talk about Oromo I'm talking about the Abyssinian Oromos not the low grade Afran Qallu, nomadic Borana or the Nilotic Macha

In the next ten years we will see more Oromo grip of Ethiopia.
